I hate how the writers destroyed their whole friendship/possible relationship in one full swoop when Cain got involved it was so unnecessary and not needed because in the end Cain destroyed nothing they managed to salvage their friendship and they never stopped loving eachother
Debbie to Jasmine ‘you know how I feel about you, nothings ever changed.’ Debbie always loved Jasmine no matter who crossed her path, what still remained is their love for one another.
This was such a messed up storyline which didn’t need to happen in the first place because Cain was only using Jasmine to get back at Debbie and it Europe’s all she needed to do was just be honest with Debbie about how confused/unsure she felt about her feelings for Debbie than they could’ve sucked through it together, a man being shoved into the middle of this storyline just scremed pointless and unnecessary
With Jenna’s huge success, I doubt we’ll see her in Emmerdale again. But seeing as Debbie is gone now too, it would be awesome to hear maybe from Charity or Belle that Debbie and Jasmine has reconciled and due to history, Jasmine won’t return to the village, so Debbie chooses her over the village… I mean, that’s the happy ending I would have had for them lol.
Even though this story arch had a sad ending... it's actually the BEST I've seen this show produce. And although Charity and Vanessa was more about an older lesbian couple combining their lives... this one had a distinct poignancy that... kept me riveted to this screen for two days. Strange part is, I've watched background on Charity only, which obviously skipped these years, and then from her return later in this same year, on up until 2021 (the good years late 2017 to 2019, I've watched at least 2 if not 3 times), but... not once do I remember this relationship being mentioned!!! Especially so when it seems as if it was one of the few that lasted any length of time. And Debbie appeared to genuinely love her. It wasn't about money, schemes, or revenge... just a very slow coming to terms with a love that... neither truly sought out, it just happened naturally and they struggled with it. And that made it beautiful to me. I do hope Jasmine returns... I'd truly love to see what happens when they are face to face once again. Will that love and that spark still be there, I wonder? Oh and Thank you SO VERY MUCH for uploading these videos! I've enjoyed them immensely!!!
This hairstyle is about the best look I've EVER seen on Debbie!! Fantastic! And a truly engaging performance! I'm beginning to like Debbie, even though I didn't care for her later on, when she became so self righteous and was always kicking off on Charity.
Is it just me, or is there something about Jasmine that reminds anyone of Tracy, when she's... calm? Something about her voice and mannerisms, maybe? Or is it the accent, tone of voice or turn of a phrase?
Very good acting on Both their parts. Jasmine was believable. I wanted to smack Laurel and shut her up for pushing so hard and jumping to conclusions before she heard the whole story. No way, will she be able to hold onto this secret! Her moral code won't allow it.
Is it my imagination or was Natasha checking out Debbie's backside while the latter was standing in front of her at the computer? And what in the world is this, with closed mouth Debbie sharing her past with Natasha? Liked that line: "Love none, trust few, always paddle your own canoe." Sounds like Charity would admire that line. LOL. So, Debbie and Jasmine have crossed that line... or still not quite yet? Bit confused still. Hmm... Another thing Debbie doesn't have in common with her mother... she ain't the kisser Charity or rather Emma is! At least doesn't appear that way from here. LOL. Charity's (Emma's) not, or at least wasn't at first, a lip smasher or quick pecker... she went for it, always leaning in, not holding back and made it look convincingly REAL!!! Whew!!!
So glad to be wrong about Debbie and how she was handling this. Pleasantly surprised to see her so easily allow Jasmine to stay. Is it just to keep an eye on her, though? Or is there more to it than that? It's hard to tell with Debbie, she's not... demonstrative like her mother. Her facial expressions don't give her away. She got that from her dad, of course. Mr. Stoneface most of the time. The only expression you can see. a lot of times is in his dark shark like eyes. And they ain't easy to read, at all.
Wow! Debbie can sure act just as heartless and cruel as her mother, when push comes to shove. Whether it's defending those she loves or pushing them away. Only she does it with less... theatrics or histrionics... which often cuts deeper... she's so emotionless. And yes, I realize Jasmine is leaving her, when she said she wouldn't, but... if Jasmine doesn't get out of the village, she's gonna dump them all in it, since she's not handling this well, at all! She's the one who actually killed him, after all. And she's the one who will feel guilty for someone else going to prison instead of her. If Debbie wasn't such a hard-headed and hard-hearted Dingle, she might see and hear what Jasmine is going through and... talk her out of leaving. Jasmine needs support... lots of support it seems... in the form of Debbie's tender loving care... (which I'm assuming is territory they've not actually crossed over into yet, though I may be reading it all wrong.)
Did I hear Chas say that Debbie and Eli were off and on together? A lot of pieces I'm still missing in this jigsaw puzzle, eh? To me, Debbie and Jasmine both appear into one another, in nearly every scene where they make eye contact, especially so of Debbie (whom I must admit, I now have a better opinion of the character and the actress). But... they're always tentative and... holding back. Makes it appear more tender, yes, but... at some point, wouldn't the smoldering fire, held in check over the years, be set ablaze? Especially now, that their emotions are running so high? Could do both of them a world of good to... release some of that tension and perhaps frustration, shall I say?
Wait... Debbie can't take care of her own daughter and she's how old now and has a job? Yet, Charity catches hell over having to leave Debbie with a friend of the family and she was only 13, was it? Then she was kicked out of her home to live on the streets. Which led to her being groomed and abused by a copper named Bails and up the duff. Many years later, she gets it thrown in her face that she not only abandoned Debbie, but leaves a child she believes died in the hospital, when she was only 14 or so? Double standard much, when Sarah is not thrown in Debbie's face? The more I watch of this show, the clearer the backgrounds become and yet... the LESS all of it makes sense. It's like a freakin' jigsaw puzzle with... lots of pieces missing from the box!!
Except for the charisma, the varied facial expressions Emma imbues the character of Charity with, along with the screeching, Debbie could hardly be anymore like Charity in the way she talks! Yet, that could be just the same writers words falling from a different characters lips, yeah? Especially since Debbie's a bit more honest, subdued and patient, though deadly serious when it comes to revenge!! She's not all blowhard like Charity, but more... silently calculating how to do maximum damage. She seems to prefer her dish of revenge served ice cold. "Trust no one."
i love how even before Debbie even knew herself that she was falling for Jasmine, Lisa was so accepting like “even if she was jasmine seems like a nice girl”😭😭
Jasmine and Debbie were the ultimate w|w ship in emmerdale back in those years was so disappointed when they dropped it, but then they picked the relationship back up again bc it was clear from the very start that they still had feelings for eachother even when they broke up yet they still stayed friends, Jenna Colman and Charley Webb have great chemistry you could see all throughout this storyline.
felt so terribly for debbie in this storyline. the two people she should be able to trust have completely betrayed. what kind of person sleeps with their partner's FATHER?? what kind of father sleeps with their daughter's PARTNER??? emmerdale wtf
