Is Carter going to take a step back from sports? I think he needs to be able to focus more on learning until he is caught up to speed, imo. Recreational activities should not be a top priority right now.
Tiffany, yours and TJ's decision is perfectly fine. Don't second guess yourself or feel conflicted. As Carter's parents, you get to make the best decisions when it comes to his education, health, and happiness As parents, you take challenges and opportunities as they come. In today's society, homeschooling is a huge blessing 🙌 because Carter will get that one on one attention as well as some compassion for his learning style. It's OK that Carter is not on the level that the public school system has deemed grade level performance. As far as the school system goes, Carter is not allowed to do public school at home because they want him physically in school to collect the federal dollars. That's a conversation for another time. Hello Just wanted to also tell you to look into a neuropsychologist to get Carter tested I was experiencing the same thing with my daughter and found out that was dyslexic So please look into it And in NYC we sue the department of education to have them paid her tuition up to 80,000 and place her into a private independent school that caters to student with learning disabilities She will graduate with a regents hs diploma
It sounds like he needs an IEP . If he needs accommodations like extra time and maybe test in small group you can ask when he goes back. Public schools should be providing that. If his teacher last year noticed the need she should've referred him that way it is required that he gets the help he needs until he no longer does it. I live in Louisiana, so I'm not sure how it goes in Virginia.
@@DailyDavidsons oh how I hate that! Sometimes it can take so much intervention and fighting to get help. I know he's going to be fine at home especially since he wants to.

Carter is so lucky to have parents like you and TJ wait let’s BFFR ALL the kids are lucky to have you guys. So refreshing to see parents who go the extra mile to advocate for their kids and that also teach their kids that’s it’s always okay to pivot and try something new if what you’re doing isn’t working!! Good Afternoon family, Tiffany see if Carter school offers IEP individual educational program which helps child get on the fast track in catching up with other students, because everybody learns differently.
I admire what you're doing with Carter. My daughter is a teacher and she takes extra time with the students who learning pace is different from the other students. Your child needs individual care and your giving him what he needs. I applaud you ❤❤❤❤

Tiff the Oder nova gets the more she resembles you to the way she stand and walks that's all you you can tell you used to be in some sport and she looks like the kid version of you
What a blessing to be able to give Carter what he needs. I love that you saw it Tiff and was able to assist. Not all parents want to see it nor are others able to pull their kid the way you were able to. As a young blk male he needs that and he is able to see his parents sacrifice for him. He too will be an awesome parent. If only all parents had this opp. Thank you for being so transparent and open when you didn't have to be. Go get'em Carter and show them what you are do!!
Of course it’s the parents decision and we only see what they want to share. Schools are to accommodate children who are having difficulties. With the extra support in the school plus supplemental learning at home can be helpful. What did the school offer to support his growth before deciding to homeschool? Was there any consideration to limit his screen time in place of educational opportunities? I’m just saying this based on the difficulties they had homeschooling during COVID.
