Even up to now, I am still in awe and so grateful that despite of my busy schedule, I decided to watch the concert. Once in a lifetime opportunity, so to say.
@@hghffgrantor8559 I know Buddy Rich. At best he is an exception, and my opinion is still the same. Drumming alone and in itself has nothing to do with music. It's just noise. This is why many drummers are so boring - not to mention their pretention... The greatest drummers of all time are Chris Slade (ACDC), Eric Carr (Kiss) and Richard Allen (Def Leppard) - and the latter only has one arm... See? Not because they are good technicians - there are many of those - but because they have the talent to instinctively know what to do and what NOT to do. In other words, they know when and how to keep quiet. Too bad if you don't understand this - but rest asured, you're not alone... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LMcDg2HwOnM.html
Since August 5th In 1992, Toto is dead. Jeff Porcaro was Toto and no one could replace him. That's exactly how it was with John Bonham at Led Zep, there are musicians who can't be replaced
Of course we can't replace him. But it's not the point to have a Jeff Bis or a copycat. Both Shannon and Simon have a unique style of drumming that serves Toto the best. Honestly Shannon is doing a great job and is the perfect drummer for Toto
My very first concert was Toto on their 2nd album Hydra tour at Celebrity Theater 1980...fantastic initiation to Live rock music! (Will never forget "White Sister" among all the other performances)
@@alannoel9243 Hey Alan, thanks for the reply. I really love TOTO's pedigree virtuosity & music from founding on. LEGENDARY !!! ISTL isn't "Comfortably Numb" difficult or complicated, but it's a GREAT 1970's young love Rocker that they in a parallel universe could have written in a collaboration with Hagar & become a early VH 2.0 classic. It's that sweetly Sublime in it's perfection. I remember how cool it felt & my GF's crush adulation for me being able to approximately copy a radio hit at 15 in 78' 😆😎 TOTO's session player history & writing & catalog are what allow them to OPEN for Journey. Thanks for posting this great song that takes me back to High School Memories 🎸🎶👍✌️🤘 & again for your reply, Cheers
Good stuff. Sooo there is a drum solo on Dogz solo tour? How long was the concert? I see them with Journey in April. Then shoot 6hrs drive to see them solo next day.
If you’re going to see them with journey. Toto only plays for one hour. Their set is 9 songs long. No drum solo, key solo etc. just the hits with 1 deep cut called Dying on my Feet. Now their solo shows go 2 hours. Expect a lot of deep cuts and the hits still. They recently started deep diving into their catalog
Seen them with Journey in 2022 two times and 2023 one time. Toto not solo yet but in April I see Journey and toto and the next day I got tixs for the Dogz solo. Be nice to see a 2 hour show because Toto is not a opening band for sure.
