I will be interviewing a few people who have powerful stories to tell Gems in the Roc that have sculpted the basketball landscape in Rochester, New York. From high school legends to college All Stars to pro athletes from across Seas, I will be tapping into questions that will get conversation started in barbershops in gyms all over the world. Shout out to the OGs that's been putting in work teaching the youth coaching and spreading knowledge from their experiences playing the game. Salute to you keep dropping those gems in the gym. PEACE TO THE PEACE PEOPLE Hit me up for suggestions or guess that you would like to see on the show. And shout out to my NYC PEEPS. I GOT YOU SHOUT OUT TO THE 5 BOROUGHS IN DUE TIME I'M COMING
YES!! Takes me back to 99th street in Queens, just off Northern Blvd!! We would find bottle caps from old liquor bottles, fill with tar, smooth down the bottoms, and play all day long!
im turning 65 and havent played full court in 3 yrs now...and better because of it, stay in my lane and hit shots and produce in half court games just fine
with all due respect, these guys are like me....time to play 3 x 3 or 4 x 4, half court.....when you get old you just dont have the running game any more
Good to see my boy "Charlie G" still enjoying the game. Chuck was nothing but a "bucket getter" back in the day... very hard to check because of his ballhandling skills and could kill you inside or outside. I was on the receiving end looking bad trying to stop him...Lol
This is Al Mitchum for those who remember me. I played for Jefferson HS and set a scoring record at MCC; 33pt in 13min. I like seeing seeing guys my age still active. Keep it up guys. I still play as well.
I enjoyed the interview with Dave"Scooty" Binion. Brings back memories of hanging out at The Binions house on Champlain St back in the day always treated me like family . Joe and I met at the old Arnette Blvd YMCA on the BBall courts before we started our freshman year at Madison HS and became friends... Salute to all the guys.
Big shoutout to all the men in this league and others OG leagues in whatever the sport you are use to performing in. You know what they say, come on and do it, do it, do it ‘til you’re satisfied whatever it is!!!!!!!!
Shout Out to Sister Dee Johnson and my homie Charlie Griffith, who is never lost for words. I hope my Cuzzins Rodney Johnson, Torrie Poindexter and KT Brice are playing in the game.
Great to hear Steve give a "shout out" to some of my old Henrietta Roth High School running buddies Reid Houston and Wally Taggart. Let's not forget Jonathan Wilson, Steve Mack, Dexter Sanders, Fred Barton, Mike James, Jerome Ward, Chris Slater, Dexter Clarkson and the late Earl Carrol. Also My RH Sperry Homies Bucky Strong, Fred Poole, Pete Growney, Tracy Harley, Calvin Goff, Spike Dennis, Rob Black just to name a few from back in the Day. I live in Lakeland, Florida but hopefully next year I will be able to catch the event in 2025. It was so good to hear some of the legends from past brings back a lot of memories growing up on Arnette Blvd and Henrietta, NY.
Getting old sucks. Go back to when these men were in their prime and they were probably flying up the court, draining shots right and left, and throwing it down. Now they just glad to be able to stumble around for a bit without getting a heart attack.
