Birds are actually one of the only animals that can recognize and comprehend melodies and rhythm, they can recall sound patterns on a much higher level than a human can, Birds really like musicians, animals in general are entertained by them, Infact my cat, is a grumpy mean little thing, unless I'm playing an instrument, which is the only time she comes to sit with me in the day. Previous pets growing up all expressed interest in musical instruments. But Birds specifically have the ability to understand and recall those patterns, because its practically their language. Birds can also recognize the emotions of a song, they know what a sad song sounds like vs a happy song. The pigeon was actually fully understanding of the event, They say Birds react a lot like people, they like to have personal space and will hang around if you interest them. If you went up to try to touch a person they would distance themselves too Birds pretty much spend all their time hanging out, so it's not hard to believe this bird, with its free space, felt comfortable enough to play with people. Lastly, if you live in the city you'll know pigeons have been getting extremely comfortable around people, Everyday when I go cycling I see some birds that just expect me to go around them or just take a couple steps to the side Animals are smarter than most people understand, but when people read that fact, they tend to still not understand what is meant by "smart"
