In AMERICA our World War Two Siron's can be heard for over two miles in every direction and stays on nonstop but in Japan the clown that set up their system to warn the people were afraid the sound might be offensive, so they only turned it on for three seconds then left it off for twenty minutes. Just think how many people never herd the three second alarms. These people are truly idiots.
Taiwan is actually prone to earthquakes, Since the 1999 Jiji earthquake, they made their buildings earthquake resistant, Sadly, here in Indonesia, even though its like 4x more active, the infrastructure here cant even stand a magnitude 6 earthquake, let alone 7.4, infact, when a magnitude 6.0 and 6.5 earthquake occured on March 22, 2024, over 4000 buildings were severely damaged or destroyed, fortunately, no one was killed but this made me enraged that our government wont make the buildings more robust.
The second clip where the man is just casually walking with the water closing in on him is chilling. Heartbreaking and humbling to know what power our planet possesses.
I live in Florida, we get hurricanes. This tsunami is like infinitely worse. Rest in power to those who lost their lives. God bless the survivors who lost everything. 😢
51:20 Seeing those two women go so slowly breaks my heart. I hope they made it. I can't even imagine how terrifying that day must have been for elders and people with limited mobility. 🥺
‘ I was 10 years old in 1964 during the great Alaskan quake I remember being with my mother at JCPenney‘s in Anchorage we left there at 5:25 PM got home 10 minutes later and at 5:36 the earthquake hit 9.2 I will never forget that !!!!!!!!
Just stop and think for a second of all the human bodies that are in the debris flow. Being cut and ripped and shredded and battered. What a nightmare.
En las casas no se cae nada, ni vasos ni platos, floreros, nada.. ahhh.. Pero en los supermercados se avientan los vinos, cervezas y otros frascos... Pareciera a propósito la vaina!!
It is really amazing how ignorant people are during a severe quake when your house could come down at any moment and they are standing there with cell phone in hand taking video instead of getting their butts outside, SMH......
My friend and I were staying in a hotel in Youngtown AZ when this earthquake hit. We were playing volleyball in the pool when suddenly we felt the water strongly serge from one side to the other, splashing large waves of water up onto the decking. At the time, we weren't sure if it was a passing train a short distance away. It wasn't until years later that we discovered that this earthquake was felt great distances across various western states and into Mexico. 😮
I have an adult, disabled kid who was really sick when these earthquakes hit. After the 6.4, we went outside out of fear of another one. I had just given him his seizure meds and he was about to go lay down when this one (7.1) hit. He started crying because he was scared and so tired and sick. Not a fun time but luckily just had minimal damage
you can tell that chick at 5:30 that wanted to sit down its cuz that was probably the most action her camel toe saw in many many years, just cuz you can clearly see just how wet she got
something i learned when i was just 6 years old after having experienced the 7.2 landers quake in 92' and being just under a mile from the epicenter: earthquakes dont kill people, buildings do
