I'm surprised you were able to communicate so well with them. I've been looking into one of those racks for a couple months and the communication is the biggest hurdle. I'm probably going to go with a different rack at this point.
I know what you mean. Communication when I’m going to drop a good chunk of change on something is paramount. Fortunately for me communication was excellent. And I love the rack. Just recently had it out and it work flawlessly. Really happy with the rack. Good luck on whichever way you go.
I like you don't care about showing your license plate. I've never understood those people that hide their plates. If you're Ozzy, Metallica, or your car is worth 2 mil, ok, but not us average Joes.
I watched your footage and was curious about the locations. I'm concerned though when I see you guys riding off trail, especially right in front of other visitors and non-riders. If you keep doing this behavior, more trails will be closed to motor vehicles. We've had so many closed in the past few years and I've spent years on Access Advocacy starting in 2010. We lost half of the trails in national forests and BLM lands. I understand most riders and vloggers won't take criticism of their riding off trail but this video is evidence of the behavior. If you believe this is approved off trail riding areas let me know the specific Trails you would disagree on. If it is off trail as it appears, this is risking all of our rights to continue to access these areas. Help all riders stay on the trail, at all times and remind our friends of the same.
Great vibe to this group and cool to see the even talent as you guys tackled some tough terrain. Great edits and dialogue as it told a fantastic story. What drives us to do these crazy things and even better what makes us go back after an injury such as the dude with the bummed shoulder?
Thanks man. We all have different experience levels but we manage to have a good time. Thanks for the kudos on the editing and dialogue. It’s definitely a work in progress with these videos but we will get there.
I liked the streamline look and fit of the Globetrotting. Also, it seems like the globetrotting rack has a little more real estate to mount bags. When it was all said and done Globetrottin just appealed to me.
@@OldGoatsMoto Very cool. Rack looks nice on your bike. I rock Mosko Backcountry’s on PanAm and got the reckless 80 for the KTM. You won’t be disappointed.
You guys are hilarious! I have many observations mostly positive some marginal some just shocked, But I think the one that stands out the most is invest in some "New" rear tires ~WoOP! Keep it 2 up all the best!
So Schweet! Rode DV last spring solo.. heading back again in October. Gnarly place off pavement, I can hardly wait. This is a good reminder to NOT ride solo but I'm not getting any younger. Hope that shoulder is coming around. Thanks for the vids✌️
Yeah DV is a pretty remote place. Not sure I would want to ride it solo but I also understand. None of us are getting any younger, got to ride when you can. Thanks for the well wishes.
That’s awesome. That’s a beautiful trail. Challenging in sections but fun overall. You picked the perfect bike for that trail. Thanks for the accolades.
Tubliss definitely could have helped. He was running heavy duty tubes and just found that rock or two that got the tube pinched. I’ve personally had a couple of issues running tubliss, so I don’t run them. I run ultra heavy duty tubes on my dual sport and Bibbs on my enduro.
Also had a torn MCL 7 weeks ago, it so slow to heal cause not much blood flowing there. By now it’s like 80 healed for me so expect 7~10 weeks for yours. The good news is started to ride after a month while still rehabilitating. Wish you a quick recovery old goaty.
SO WHEN DO YOU RIDE OFF ROAD AND NOT EXPECT INJURIES? ANY AND ALL INJURIES CAN BE EXPECTED AT ANY TIME. IT'S SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS TO GO OUT AND THINK THAT THERE ISN'T. THAT'S WHEN PEOPLE SUFFER GNARLY FATES.... MURPHY'S LAW. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. IT'S NOT IF YOU'RE GOING TO EAT IT, IT'S WHEN.
Well I NEVER go out expecting injuries. It’s go out EXPECTING a good time with zero injuries. I know there is always a chance of injuries but I hope my years of riding and skill set will assist me in NOT getting hurt but sometimes accidents happen.
It also looks like from their website that it’s only for rims 2.5” and wider and only for rims with a safety bead. They also suggest not going below 25 psi. I think this is more for the larger ADV bikes rather than the smaller dual sports we ride. I love the idea tho. Thanks for sharing.
@@OldGoatsMoto 25psi! Dang, yeah i was considering it for a dr650, but i like to drop pressures to around 18psi on trails, will take another look before i pull the trigger. Didnt realize they didnt make setups for enduros, but worth the thought, sorry about that!
Well it was my buddy who got injured not me and he actually wasn’t going fast. He came up to a ridge in the sand and knew he needed a little bit of speed to crest the lip of the dune and when he went over the top and landed on the other side the front tire stuck in the sand and pitched him off the bike and landed on his shoulder. Wasn’t doing anything crazy just an accident.
@@OldGoatsMotoriding dirt bikes off-road isn’t exactly safe, but is a thrill and a fun challenge. Most backcountry sports including hiking, mountain biking cross country skiing are also risky, but allow inspirational adventure unlike anything else.
Thank you. Yeah there is always a balance between motor and music. I believe the first flat was because there was a standard tube in the tire and we were riding in some pretty sharp rocky terrain. Then we patched it and the patch didn’t hold like we had hoped. All part of the adventure.
Nice build bud.....FYI with your front Sprocket!!! The dirt tricks dome washer is wider than stock.. so the rubber damper on front Sprocket NEEDS to come off to fit properly.... looks like you already got some oil from the seal leaking because it wasn't removed
Hey man thanks for the compliment. Yeah I agree you need to shave the rubber flush with the sprocket so the washer fits, however, that isn’t the stock sprocket so it doesn’t have the rubber dampener in it and the “oil” that you see is actually chain lube that has flown off the chain. Thanks for watch man.
Very nice build sir. One thing I’ve learned from experience is the tires are the most important upgrade to a bike besides a good PCM upgrade. Regardless of price lol. I’ve spent a lot of money on shitty tires. Very nice bike
Thank you sir and I couldn’t agree more. Tires are very important as is suspension. I like to try different tires out and I kept seeing these tires when I was browsing tires to buy so I thought I would give them a shot. Now I know. Lol.
I don’t know about KTM’s unreliability. I’ve owned multiple models and years and I have beat the mess out of them and they just keep on going. Obviously your mileage may vary. From my experience they are super reliable. As far as the maintenance schedule, I’ve never gone by the manual. I keep a clean air filter on the bike and change the oil regularly but not nearly as often as KTM says too.
Nice upgrades! I got a 49 tooth Super Sprox on my 2014 500. 116 links will put you right in the center of the slot. It a great set up. You can blast up the steep stuff and still cruise 65 on the pavement without excess rpm.
