I'm so bummed the transponders failed. No results from this race can be trusted. I don't know how they hand scored, but all 4 of my B tests were about ~0:46 slower on CORCS results than my GoPro and surprise surprise, your B test was 10:31 according to this video, and they have your 3rd B test as 11:16, 0:45 seconds slower. All A tests were spot on, though. Good job out there, the arm pump was brutal. Your crash at the beginning, that corner ALMOST took me down our first time on A, I had to hop and hobble to stay upright. See ya at RAM in a few weeks!
Hey DeeO big fan of your channel! I missed my rear brake going into that corner and boom, dirt sample! Yeah the scoring was a little off, seamed liked I bounced in placement for a couple days. I felt really solid on this one and was bummed when the final results landed. I did record every test though, I'll have to go back and see what go pro timed me at! Looking forward to RAM, see you there!
So I went back and checked my times to the go pro, I came up with an accumulative time of 1:20:24, I was scored at 1:23:15. Looks like the same 40 plusish seconds added to all my test B runs. I guess you just hope that everyone was scored with the same added time 🤔
@@erickcook9333 Appreciate you watching, man! Super bummer but yeah it's all over the place. Like I know my B tests weren't faster than some of the pros lol. Still a fun event and a great time on the bike, but a shame that as far as racing and placement goes, none of it is valid in my opinion after discovering these discrepancies.
Eric was on another level! Tried running with him early, I don't think I could of kept that pace the whole time, he was moving! Ended up not needing to though, went out with a nail in my rear tire just into the 2nd lap. It's a really fun race you should give it a go next year!
It's being lugged. Thats a normal sound. The brakes are getting worked, because you are taking the engine brake away everytime you squeeze the clutch, and rely only on your brakes. It causes the inertia to lerch forward, therfore applying more brakes...
the youtuber cycle. learn on a 4 stroke. buy a newer 4 stroke cus you're getting more serious about riding. buy a brand new 4 stroke and talk about how it's great and it offers all these things you like and you love it and you aren't interested in anything else. trade it off to get a 2stroke and admit it's more fun in every way and pick up subs 100k subs because people like not listening to a fart launcher. you're at the new 4 stroke phase. will sub when we get to the 2 stroke phase.
Would you say it's a more easier to ride power than the '21? I heard you can really mellow out the power with the app and a throttle tamer cam? Considering the 450 as an alternative to a KTM 350. Vet novice rider so I want to be careful and not get too much bike!
I had my 21 mellowed out a bit with the "smooth" map. So far with the 24 I've left it in the base map from Yamaha, both seem very controllable for me but I try to stay away from the technical stuff these days! I'll probably get into some mapping changes in the next couple rides and see what I like. The biggest difference I've noticed a couple hours in is the handling. I really like the YZ450FX because it's like you have multiple bikes in one with all of the adjustability of the power characteristics. Now with the handling I think it's a great platform! I do hear a lot of great thing's about the Austrian 350's though as long as you can get the suspension dialed for your riding! I've never ridden with a throttle tamer but if I got into some gnar I'd might consider it.
@@erickcook9333 Thanks Eric, it's such a beautiful looking bike! And way slimmer than the '23 from the video you shot, and I love the idea of having multiple bikes in one! I've got a '23 KTM XC250 for woods but the YZ450FX would be sweet for moto and faster trail riding.
Question, Is the Aztec race in October the same track layout as the race in March? This is my first year racing so i don't know if there the same, and i was wondering if you might know.
Im not certain but the flyer mentions Aztec/Wildrat and the sand wash. That would exclude the RAM portion that we raced in the spring but adds the sand section back in that was taken out because it was full of tumbleweeds! I looked at the sand section last week, it probably won't be the same as in years past due to the heavy rains. A lot of it near the tunnel is washed out...
It was a tough one for me, just couldn't get going! The RAM mud took out my fork seals, thought I had it covered but they started leaking just after the start, lost my front brake for the race!
@erickcook9333 I just rode terribly. I should have ridden a lot more before the race, but didn't due to injury. I've only been riding about a year, so I need all the practice I can get. Basically, I just sucked, but I still had fun.
@d.brayman3165 having fun is what it's all about! I'm an old slow guy, didn't start riding until my late 30's, love going out and pushing hard on my dirtbike!
@@erickcook9333 good stuff, almost asked about the head, sounds like it runs great. We are going up that this Saturday! Gonna be a rip! Nice video and love the Yamaha!!
Such a fun trail, we made the summit in an hour with a few breather stops in there! If you are a front range guy, check out Singletrack Squids on FB. We post rides etc.
@@erickcook9333 I looked and I didn't see me. :) I didn't video until lap 2 myself. I did catch a couple of guys but by then, the classes were all mixed up.
First races aren't about racing, they're about learning. I thought you did a fine job. I should have been there but life got in the way, see ya at the next one. I ride a pro version of that stock ebike that got around you. 90% rider, 10% bike and I just have more fun on the ebike. I'm #69 in CORCS & WEBE this year. I'm Ronnie Mac'n it!
@@erickcook9333 What!? I didn't know that! Now I'm mad I haven't used it! Are you racing this year? I just registered for the series. It'll be the first time I've races in about 15 years
