If the light on the control panel won’t illuminate but the display still works, is it possible to replace the light or would that mean a complete panel replacement?
I also have the same fridge in this video. But I also have 4 wires which I don't know where they go to. As it came out a caravan and I putting it into a caravan. And I putting it into a Canberra band the wars are white road, green and yellow red and white and white and black. Could you tell me what these wires go to please
My model, RM 4270, has a thermostat probe to both the electric and another to the gas thermostat. I can't pull them out of the hole. What's holding them and how do I get to it please?
Hi my truma boiler (on gas) tries to start but after a few seconds switches off I've tried resetting leaving for 15 mins ect. I've noticed the control panel is giving a flicker when turned off I don't know if that's related. Regards Roy.
My fridge which is the same, trips the electrics when first hooked up. I run it on gas for a few hours, then switch it back to 240 and all is good. It just trips out before its properly cold it seems.
Brilliant! Not confident to break gas pipe to get the fridge out. Can this be achieved without taking the fridge out completely? Oh yeh - love the way you are working on the fridge in between the two seats! Brilliant
Thanks. Really clear instructions at a speed that is easy to follow. In my case the dead panel was down to a loose connection on the 12V connection crimp behind the panel. Not even 3 years old! Probably would have been OK if the fitter had not just crumpled up all the wires behind the panel (inc wires to light switches next to panel) into a ball.
The truma hot water service should really be renamed to The Trauma hot water disservice. I wasted money on one in 2015 then replaced the tank that split then replaced the whole hot water service thinking I may have just got a dud then I discovered after replacing two more tanks that they are completely fucked with a lifespan of one to two years and they will not honour their shit dysfunctional rubbish...
Brilliant video Thanks. I have a problem with my Truma 6002 heater faulting (red light) I have checked the PCB visually and can see no signs of burnt components. Fuse is okay as well. I am not an electronics engineer and Truma don’t make these boards anymore C 60 D/1 do you think I should get the board tested locally for faults before investigating other options? The only reason I checked the board was I could see and smell burning when trying to operate the control panel? I immediately switched off gas etc. I am based in Kidderminster. Regards Mark
I have the exact same problem. The power coming through the boiler and coming up to the control panel, but the control panel doesn't light up. The co told panel is brand new and it doesn't work..
Hi, My fridge wont work on 240v only on the gas, how do I check the element is working with a multi meter? I'm getting a reading in OHM's but I do not know how many it should be reading it's a Dometic RM7550 135w/130w many thanks Steve
What an excellent video, not my problem but really well done, I was hoping to see more of your videos but alas only two to watch 🤢 what happened? are you going to do more?
If I remember correctly I had an issue with a bad solder on the boiler cp and the Internet cable from the cp in the van going to the cp on the boiler was broken so had to get the board resolvers and a new Internet cable fitted. I do remember getting an error code also but can't remember the code sorry hope this helps.
I great video I have the 240v 125w element buts is grey not red like the fitted also the contractions are different I have two brown and earth but not sure what Brown wire goes to the switch and thermostat can you help.
Great video and I managed to get the electric working again after changing the element. However, I cannot fathom out exactly what to do with the battery wires off the grey cable to switch etc. Can you help /add a picture? Many thanks
I have an issue with the control panel not maintaining my settings after it goes 'to sleep'. I can get the heater on and the hot water working fine ... but as soon as the control panel goes 'to sleep' after about 30 seconds of no activity everything stops and when I 'wake up' the control panel all the settings are lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Great video , I've got a dometic RM7291L, my problem is that when using hook up, the fridge green light will illuminate for the 240, and will start to cool, after a few hours the green 240 light will go dim but still slightly lit and fridge will stop cooling, if left like that for a few hours, the fridge will start working again, green light will be full lit and start cooling again, this cycle keeps happening, 12v won't work when towing, tried gas the orange light just keeps flashing, please help its our new van , thanks
Hi I have a truma combi 4e it started as an intermittent fault but now does not start up I get a continual clicking and a green light on and off the mainboard, I was told by trauma that the data cable was at fault /squashed/broken or in some way faulty, I've ordered a new one so will let you know the outcome but thank you for the video its very helpful. the panel its self is working fine so I'm hoping its just the cable but the video helps if its not the cable then I'm thinking its the mainboard, what are your thoughts!.
Excellent video thanks . I have just removed my Fridge and am about to fit a new 230v element. I wasn't sure how to test for a non working element before committing to removing the fridge as its a lot of work involving removing a bed , cupboards and some wiring in my Camper van but some searching on youtube provided the answer. if the element is open circuit its fubar .Still not absolutely sure that the 2x brown element wires don't have polarity ? but I guess if I refit as original it will be ok. The resistance of my 230v Element measured 339 ohms with the 2x brown wires disconnected from the rheostat and green switch. With the fridge switched on the temperature of the outlet pipe at the top of the heat exchanger went from 84 (cold) to 112 degrees within 9 minutes ! but it does take at least 4 minutes before you start to see a temperature increase so be patient when testing .
Top video, so clear - thanks. One thing worth mentioning: I did this on my 'van (incidentally same model 'van and fridge as the one you worked on - Dometic/Electrolux RM 6270 in an Ace Jubilee Ambassador, 2003) but the foam seals were horrendous. The had all turned to a black tar/bubblegum consistency, so gooey that there were great strings of the stuff when the fridge came out. I would recommend having some thick cardboard in place to protect the carpet. I had to spend a long time cleaning both fridge, fridge void and marks on the carpet. This stuff gets everywhere. Meths on a rag works, as does brake cleaner, but bc would probably be a bit too aggressive on the laminate surfaces.
Excellent, I havre the same issue but slightly different Boiler. A Truma but its stood up, in my Autotrail, it has a grey bezil with a black tenp knob in the middle. When you turn to tha gas symbol the green LED comes on turning to red if it dont light. I dont get any LED at the switch, so am going to follow what you just did for that boiler. The sparker for the cooker also stopped working at the same time so I am expecting a fuse perhaps. Daz
