Howdy! Travis is my name, and preserving & documenting history is my game! I get paid to play on steam locomotives, and I’m also a riverboat enthusiast and trained storm spotter. Most of the videos you see here (which are branded under the name “Georgian Rail & River Productions”) are going to focus on railroad operations, historic preservation, and the occasional riverboat video.

120 Years Old. I know that this engine has been rebuilt and modernized countless times, but the same basic underpinnings are there. The fact that true heavier than air aircraft existed for less than year when 630 was built is maddening
So wait a minute... how did the dome car manage to fit for the missonary ridge tunnel. Because i thought at first that the tunnel was way too small for the car itself

@@TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan It’s not an original. It was made for 4501 in the Birmingham Steam Shops in the late 70’s or early 80’s to get the Princeton off the engine, as the machinist there hated that whistle.
Hey Travis, I caught all these trains at Tunnel Hill , GA . Cannot say I am a fan of the pathetic effort CSX has for Heritage Units , but was nice to document it and the other moves that day. Good Vid , BTW !
Excellent video Travis! I'd love to come up there to film these trains, only thing is I don't know their operation schedule. Do you know what days they operate and from where they usually start from?
They typically start around LaFayette or Rock Spring most days. They run Monday through Friday, and go to Chattanooga for interchange on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
@@rhettrobinson1361 Just as a hotel. The engines are not connected to any machinery that can propel the boat. If it even still has its engines in it. The boat does not move, and hasn’t in many years.
Back in September I was watching a video a train going down the Belt Line and thought about how ever since I was a kid I had always wanted to take a train that went that way but there was no option except the dinner train which I had no interest in. Rides to the Choo-Choo are a thing of the past, the TAG line to Kensington is in disrepair, and Chickamauga and Summerville were uncertain. As a result I had thought about taking a ride on one to Copperhill. Within a few minutes of my thinking about how fun it would be to go down the belt line I found out that rides to Summerville and Chickamauga were back. On October 14 I took the steam train to Summerville. I don't know the last time I enjoyed something that much. I am hoping to do it again sometime
