Du Cinema is a channel dedicated to the art of filmmaking! I share video-essays about popular culture and a wide variety of movies 🍿🎬.
I love to discuss broad topics and talk about all kinds of movies. I firmly believe that learning more about cinema can give you so much more enjoyment from movies and will make you appreciate the art a little bit more.
But, what does 'Du Cinema' mean? Well, it's inspired by the famous and well respected French movie magazines titled Cahiers Du Cinema, meaning 'notebooks on cinema'. It was founded in the 1950's and included essays of influential filmmakers and film critics. The literal translation is "from cinema", the place where it all starts 🎥.
''album called -everywhere at the end of Time - and it's a 6 and a half hour compilation of music that explores what it feels like to get dementia'' what a pleasant disturbed curiosity that might be
The first film was certainly the funniest of the past 20-30 years. Even so at times it made me cringe because he was taking advantage of Americans' hospitality and rather naive willingness to not offend their guests. They played along with his outrageous and moronic statements just to be polite. But at least it was funny. The sequel was dire. Very little humour but the same exaggerated need from Americans to be polite to a guest, as with the women's meeting and their painfully civilised reaction to the outrageous speech by Borat's 'daughter'. Or the 2 guys who put him up during lockdown putting up with his disgusting behaviour.
I wonder if Nolan could spot the difference of digital vs film if you would shoot the same shot, add grain and all that stuff in post & show him side by side.
I agree, I love the art to acting what makes Jake different is he has status and can pick and generally come out in mid to large budget films. But he often picks independent films and films nobody is interested in seeing cause he likes the role and craft to acting. He is what you’d call an actors actor someone more concerned with the quality of his work then being a star
I find this so funny back in the day even now rewatching it, says a lot about Americans and how they believe they only exist and the ignorance of people in the USA thinking anything outside the states only start fire with sticks. Basically making fun of the U.S and the people that live in it
I have dreams of places that I frequently go, like my school but they arent the same. Like they are warped and it’s different, I always dream im trying to escape but I can’t.
I read a book about Joaquin's brother River Phoenix. River was the STAR of the family before Joaquin. In that book it was stated, that the the family Bottom changed their name to PHOENIX AT THE COMMUNE OF THE FAMILY. NOT AFTER THEY LEFT. THIS WOULD ACTUALLY GO ALONG WITH THAT CULT. THE PHOENIX REPRESENTS SATAN FOLKS.ALL THESE ACTORS ARE FROM THE ENEMY, SATAN. MAKE NO MISTAKE. Peace
If a Hollywood screenwriter made a script, particularly for anyone of us, and we were given a full movie crew, to film production, along with acting and physical training, along with any assistance you needed (along with $millions and anything you wanted), I think There’s no way that anyone of us couldn’t put on a decent performance with enough takes and patience from the crew like these actors. Anyone can be an artist with Hollywood or corporate support.
I once dreamed about purposely hallucinating (not a lucid dream) lamps or something and then out of control spawned a woman, who asked me, If I want to have sex with her right now. Unfortunately I woke up and my slip was dry.
Another example of that dreams are different from reality and an example of lucid dreams is superliminal, its a game that you can progress in through perception Example: If you take a pawn of chess and look up while holding the pawn in the game, it becomes bigger as if you saw it on the ceiling This is a bad example it would probably be better to just watch a video or play the game or something
