Just a regular guy in Poland sharing his Australian opal cutting hobby. Working only with a knife block, the occasionnal sandpaper, leather and cerium oxide.
Don QUARNSTROM told us of your channel. I subscribed. He gave us a heads up about you and said to give you a try. 😊. Greetings from Victoria, Australia.
@@polishedopals8667 He has been very kind. I'm not tech minded and had trouble with my device. On another channel. He walked me through how to change stuff like resolution for clarity. Via live chat! Legend!! Delighted to be on board. 😊
Nice opal at the end but I was noticing your not showing any video of the actual process you might get quite alot more subscribers if you show the actual process are you hand cutting or do you have an actual cabbing machine your just showing the opal after the fact just a suggestion keep it up
Pretty stone good job m8 👍 I’d suggest keeping it and when u cut later hopefully trying to find a couple of matching size stones similar qualities maybe for a set🫡
You feel a sinking feeling as flaws appear in a stone you had hope for,, onwards and upwards mate,, It does make the few wins you for make, even more precious.
At some point, you get to know when to expect disappointment from a stone. In a parcel, beh, it happens. When it's a stone you bought individually, then it's much worse.
Hi how thick is this stone? Beautiful colours possibly put it aside till you perfect your shapes and just give it a little touch up you’ll have less weight but a more valuable stone thanks for the vid m8 🫡
An very experienced paint sprayer, told me to add a drop of washing up liquid to water when hand polishing , the water cools and removes debris, the detergent lubricates,, he said the finish is much better,, boy was he right,, Enjoying your channel👍
@@polishedopals8667 I cut by hand too. I dop stick my stones as early as possible, this too saves the pinky's. Washing up liquid definitely improves finish 👌👍
Try not to buy a rub under 5 CRTs and a rough under 20 CRTs gives you the best chance to make a win maybe I guess it depends on your budget but hey fun is for fun money is for money depends which way you want to go 🫡🫡🫡
Money is definitely an issue, since sales aren't there 😒. I can work down from 2-3ct of okay rough, but under 1 is when it gets too difficult. I get better pieces individually too, but when you need content you accept that a lot of the cheaper ones won't turn out.
