Significant and ongoing research about spinal cord injuries is very much needed and Wisconsin has now taken a very important lead in this fight to further understanding and hopefully, one day, finding a cure for paralysis.

I’ve been following this subject for many years and I find it exciting and very promising. I am amazed this is not promoted more vigorously. “It’s the future and possibly affect our populations survivorship. Mr Keirstead to date is very dedicated and in my opinion his quest will positively impact“MANY LIVES”
Has there been any updates about this in the past nine-years? This seems to happen with these "breakthroughs" every time... Some study goes great, and then nothing ever comes from it.
Wouldn't you have expedite the research results if your child was paralyzed? I'm so frustrated of the promises with no results from you, Mayo, UCSD and Reeves foundation. Switzerland will find the cure before the U.S. very soon.
You need to understand all the work that goes into research as well as how difficult it is to get past clinical trials. If you ever work in a lab, you'll learn that these are some of the busiest workers in society. Never mind that you have to wait for your animals to be birthed, develop, undergo injury and then recover with your experimental condition...and then all the data collection from sectioning tissue and staining, expression quantifications, etc...This takes months or years for just one experimental idea. And if this doesn't work out, you have to try a new line of thinking and go through it all again. If you want to help, get an education, join a lab and try to contribute what you can. Don't complain about the work that others do if you can't do it yourself.

Very interesting presentation. Was your audiance in the medical field, spinal cord injury individuals, family of spinal cord injury patients, public laymen, or a combination of all? Dr, Havton, Is there any pharma or other alternative therapy that you can recommend for someone who has had two microdiscectomies, both at L4/5, due to para-central herniation and prolonged significant consequential saddle anesthesia? Some limited sensation has returned, but fortunately no motor deficits occurred. Anything that could be recommended to regenerate the significant sensory deficits caused by this unfortunate damage would be greatly appreciated.
im gonna try a hydropool this week, i had L5/S1 microdisectomy ten days ago..i need to get my scar healed so no septic stuff happens withh the hygene oof pool ettc..but when im healed im going to try this..
There won't be any. Decorin doesn't work and none of the replication studies showed it worked either. This is just a money making scheme for the guy holding the patent. Guess who that is?
