Hello, I completed the test. And result was 45/100. Speaking and writing 55/100, reading 30/100 and listening 39/100. What do you think about this result? And which lvl is required for developers?
@English.Fluency
@English.Fluency 17 дней назад
Hey Duško, thank you for sharing your EFset test results! Your overall score of 45/100 means you are at a B1 level, which is an intermediate level. 🎉 The English level needed for developers can vary depending on the job and the company. But, a B1 level might be enough for some roles, especially if you mainly work with written English (like reading documentation and writing code). If your job involves a lot of talking (meetings, presentations, team projects), aiming for a B2 level or higher would be a good idea. 👍 Keep up the great work, and let me know if you need more advice!

Hello sir, I have a question please 😊, is it necessary to put a time marker with the past simple? Like "I saw this movie last night" Is it right also to remove the "last night" and say the sentence without it? Is it right in the formal language and the slang?
@English.Fluency
@English.Fluency 23 дня назад
Hey Abdullah! 😊 That's a great question. It's not always necessary to include a time marker with the past simple tense. For example, you can say "I saw this movie," and it's perfectly correct. Here’s a super trick to nail the past simple tense: you can use it anytime you are giving information. The more details you give, the more precise your information is. This applies to both formal and informal language. Here’s another super trick: in English/American culture, formalities are used less and less. Therefore, focus more on the MESSAGE you want to deliver, rather than the formal way you are delivering it. Hope this helps! 😊

I have been learning English for one year, and I'm feel some progress. However, I write some paragraphs everyday, and I ask Chatgpt give me corrections about my paragraphs and guessing my English level, but some days, it says your English is B1 and next day says your English level is B2. Is that reliable estimation? 😂😂
@English.Fluency
@English.Fluency 24 дня назад
Hi Laacdan! I totally get your confusion, lol. Even though ChatGPT is pretty smart, it’s not perfect at assessing your English level. It's like asking a robot to be your language teacher - it can help, but it's not 100% reliable 😅 . Keep up the good work mate, and don't worry too much about your level. The important thing is that you're making progress! 💪

@English.Fluency
@English.Fluency Месяц назад
Hey Daven! First off, it's awesome that you're good at listening and reading. That's a solid foundation that not many people have! To improve your speaking skills, the key is to keep practicing. You can start by speaking English out loud every day, maybe copying parts of a dialogue from your favorite movie. This helps build muscle memory for pronunciation and fluency. 💪 Also, every Saturday I go live to give tips and tricks about pronunciation, grammar, and everything in between. 😊😊 I'm about to release a free training called "English No Fear: How to Get Past the Fear of Speaking". If you want, I can put you on the waiting list! (Just answer with your email address👌👌)
