I have soaked my OG hen, Henrietta, twice now in warm epsom salt water and she has since passed some infected looking poo but no egg or any sack of any kind. But here’s the thing with her…she is 6 years old. Not even sure she is egg bound. We thought she wasn’t even laying eggs anymore for the past couple years. I have new deworming medication on the way just in case (and treating the rest of the girls). Today I read about crop binding as well??? Because her head was twitching this morning until her second soak so it’s leaving me confused as to what is actually wrong. She drank a littler water yesterday morning but that’s it. She’s been sleeping all day.
My baby chick just died today..it was because some of our fvcking dumb guests squealed his throat💔 I’ll never forget him..he was the youngest out of them all..❤❤
People feeding animals by the roadside eventually leads to collisions that result in the death or injury to the animal (and to some humans as well). Please admire all wildlife from a distance.🎉
A warm bath followed by a lubricant such as Vaseline placed just inside and around the vent may help the hen to pass the egg. Place her in a dark secluded place to nest away from other birds. Seek urgent veterinary help if the hen is still unable to lay the egg and is showing signs of distress. The hen in the video: gentle massages helped her pass the egg on her own.
