Another incomplete YT DIY video. Lowering the glove box is a beech. Friend was upset after watching your video. I also love the uploader's sophist comment: if I can do this anyone can?! A friend break clips and more. They lost the screw for the infotainment screen. The cloth didn't prevent that. They should've used a magnetic screw driver instead. Ultimately, they ended up going to an auto mechanic to fix what they broke and messed up. And these cheap "hubs" work for 6 months at best then they're garbage.
Well this is unfortunate as I'm on v27 and I can't get the software update for Australia region, tried the Mazda revolution site that other videos recommend where I could find all the files I need there but I can't message anyone because account too new. I make a post there asking for help in acquiring the files for my region but it was removed an hour later! Made a Reddit post on Mazda 3 sub asking for help updating from v27 but got no help so I repost to another Mazda sub... And again, no help! I really wanted to install myself instead of paying dealership $515 for them to do it but since I can't even update the infotainment, the dealership is my only option!
So what happens if bios isn't updated? My hub is doing the reset bug even with the navigation card removed. I want to replace the hub thinking it will fix the problem.
I do not know the consequences of not doing it…mine was at that level, and a think there have been a few more updates since I installed mine, but I have never updated past 70.xx - every mazda 3 forum says you must do it to that point or the aftermarket hub installs will not function…I need to find out if I take it in or try to do an update if it will still function?
@@alrightythen888 I'm in Australia and Mazda dealership quoted me $320 for the USB replacement hub and cables but theywon't supply the software update so there's no point doing myself since I'm on v27 and I have no f**king idea where else to get the update files from, other tutorials linked Mazda 3 revolution but I can't even interact with anyone there that may have the files cos newly created accounts can't message others and posts get removed. I have to get it done at the dealership for $515!
Thank you for this, the instructions on this installation differ depending on if your car has a CD player or not. Most are for the ones without a cd player so this is helpful.
As in center console, if you mean the cup holder area and the attached brake lever boot? - I would say yes, I did that in the video and it does make it easier, just lift up on it and it pops out, like any trim in the vehicle, things just pop free, pay attention to that cord that I said the clip faces towards the passenger side (it did in my case)-- I think I was referring to not having to remove the shifter area and the cd player etc…
I just did the install and the most confusing part was figuring out which cable plugged in were. Wasn't too hard to figure out since they will only fit it one spot. There is one open plug on the hub unit and it doesn't seem to matter. Not sure what it's for. Maybe AUX audio, but I didn't test that. Thanks for sharing the instructions!
Did you manage to find the software updates after a year?! I currently have the same problem of not being able to find the software updates I need for Australia region since the dealership won't provide me the software to go with the USB hub replacement, the Mazda revolution site I was guided to was bloody useless since I can't even message the user that was said to be able to help... BeCaUsE mY aCcOuNt Is ToO nEw 🤪... Well, no shit!! I just made damn account to get what I need! So I make a post there asking for help and... It was deleted within the hour! 😡 My only option now it seems is to pay up $515 to the dealership to get android auto 😢
I just got a 2014 Mazda 3 GT Hatchback, it’s a very nice car. Interior is very nice, and upgraded the touchscreen to Apple CarPlay. I like how Mazda provides a oem kit to for it, no other company does this. Very impressed with the car.
