That is beyond cool man I lost all my rc trucks in a fire about 2 weeks ago a lipo battery exploded I was able to get fire out after carrying out 2 mattress on fire and an ac unit was burnt up pretty bad in the process 1st 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my feet legs and hands everything is piling up due to being out of work but seeing videos like this keep me staying positive I sure do miss the sound of those fans humming someday hopefully I will get to bashing again but in meantime it's videos like yours brother that keep me staying positive love the xmaxx thing is a beast! After that run that esc never ran the same it hit its peak 19Kw. I ran onyx in a similar truggy rc and hit a brand new Esc at 19Kw and tbe esc was never the same after that pass. Is there a KV limit on the Mad Max 20 on 12s? Would a 1050kv on 12s be doable without hitting a limit? Do you have any experience running the tp power motors like the 5860 or 5870? I'm looking to achieve 100mph on grass in a Losi 5ive whilst still remaining a reliable bashing setup. Of a Lehner 3080/30100 is an option but super expensive and see people breaking the motor shaft on those. Will you be trying the castle 1700kv rotor in the 1100kv any time soon and seeing what you can squeeze out of that?
the esc is has 240,000 mechanical rpm limit. 2 pole 240, ,000 rpm limit, 4 pole 120,000 rpm limit and 6 pole 60k limit. Tp 56 and 58 series motors are 6 pole. The 5860 1050 on 12s is fine I have a few. 5870 or 5690 I really don't like thoes cans, they draw too much constant current but peak same power output as 5860 and 5680 and spin 10K rpms less so the 5870 and 5690 are slow torque monster motors while the 5860 or 5680 are RPM monsters. LMT motors are really nice and expensive I try to avoid using mine, if you want something similar to 30100 power the 70-125 is a beast at 16s voltage half the cost. The main thing about 100 mph desire is the voltage drop of lipos, mid 90's 10Ah 6s packs on 12s will be around 40 volts which is 3.3 volts per cell. I have some videos of 2028 1700kv very awsome motors but I keep with castle Xlx2 esc. I do have some 2028 1100 motors to and will start using them with mad max esc
@KiloWattRC this is very useful and valuable info you have gave me here that I haven't seen elsewhere so thanks, I'm certainly decided on a Mad Max 20 or 21..yea I was considering the 5860 over the 5870 and gearing it lower because I doubt the torque increase is proportionate to the rpm decrease. I have been looking at the 560kv HW but just wish it was a bit higher KV, 16s is some seriously high voltage and not seen any running videos of it on such voltages so all the videos I have seen it doesn't seem as powerful as it potentially could be. Also after calculating rpm I think it only peaks around 33k or something around there on 16s so it would have to be geared high and I don't know if that will introduce a lot more heat. So in your opinion, if you were willing to go as high as 16s then the 560kv Hobbywing would be the most powerful over any of the TP power or Castles on 12s? How far off the Lehner do you think it is, have you had chance to put it in a car and test the 560kv on 16s yet? How are you matching packs for 16s I have an 8s isdt charger so I would just charge in parallel as an 8s pack?
@DanielK-xn5si It's easy if plan top out 12s then mad 15 300 amp or mad 400 are the. best bets. ZTW makes some 70-120 cans 620 kv I believe. Here is the HW 560 in action on 16s. @KiloWattRC yea, just looking back at some of you older videos and feel like not wanting to pay the cost is creating too many dilemmas and compromises..that Lehner in the Xmaxx you weren't even trying at it is was hitting 130mph, I think that says it all really. Think a Mad Max esc and just save up the coin for the Lehner, the other motors are nice but always seems like cost, kv, temp, esc reliability decisions and looking at fractions if moh difference between them, whereas the Lehner looking at that video you posted it's just in a totally different league, not even trying and it is hitting the other motors out of the park. Considering how much my Taylor 71cc Baja cost to build it doesn't seem like a ridiculous amount to pay extra for the Lehner, just hopefully it will be reliable as I have heard they aren't the best with warranty. As good as the speeds were with the 560kv HW you got I was quite surprised by the low peak rpm and watts. Certainly look like great reliable bashing motors but think if I'm looking at the best there is performance wise it seems the Lehner is well ahead and worth the extra. Do you think you will try a pairing of the Lehner with the Mad Max esc? Interesting what you say about Castle, are these motors going to be 70mm cans? Do you have any idea of watt kind of watts they are aiming for officially?
Got max6-g2 and 1650kv... I need to know best gears for top end i want speed not bashing. Plz help me out i have 1.5 30/46 gpm now stock setting on esc tuning.
How do you think that mad max would hold up on low volts with high amps? Think it could handle 700A plus for 6 or so seconds? Awesome build and like that you push such a big car. Kinda why I like low volts. It's fun when you have stuff working against ya, like weight, Aero, or voltage. Keep it up bro!
@@KiloWattRC you'll get there man. Just experiment with can sizes and KV rating. Try an even longer can and a lil higher KV. Wheels too. Going up in wheel size is equal to gearing up.
One more thing… a lot of people don’t understand what it takes to keep an RC with this much power even running without breaking something or blowing a tire to the moon… and to keep it going straight on two wheels on grass up to 70mph with the times you’re putting down… yeah people… this is no beginner class with 70+ mph :35 pounds of fury. For those getting into MadMax ESCs, they are also have a MadMax15 (300A) for 12S that is closer to the Max4, and a MadMax18 (250A) for 16S in about a month.
Jason let me ask you a question. I know you have a few of these and I wanna get one now but curious why is the new max21 only rated at 300amps but is 16s rated and the max20 is 400amp and only rated at 12s. Seems like the max20 is the better deal with the 400amp rating
I have brought this to the Mad components Marketing team. I highly insist they make the mad 21 400 amp as well. It's is possible they will I just can't guarantee untill I know more
So why did they make the 16s 21 series handle 100 amps constant less than the 12S variant? I would have thought they would have made it with more Amps than the 20

@@KiloWattRC cool, thanks. I would suggest 400 amp or even 500 amp if we are going 16S. I’m not a speed runner, but I bash like I am. I’m always geared way up on overkill.
