Do the Copywork notebooks open and stay open while you write in them? In the past we have had similar notebooks and they drive you nuts while you are trying to write in them..they will not stay open.
I'm looking forward to your review of EIW. My win this month is that I've finally gotten a schedule that's working for us! 🥴 Having twin toddlers has thrown me for a BIG loop this year. 😅 I know you know the struggle. LOL. I went to Asheville yesterday to get my nephew from his training program to be a welder. It's devastating and I'm not too sure how to help either. He definitely feels defeated because this was launching him into something greater and doing better for himself. (He was homeless before getting into the program) I'm just in deep prayer. My priority right now is to help him decompress and leave space for him to heal. Then, well start looking for other programs in our area.
Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry to hear about your nephew 😞. You are doing an amazing thing helping him out! I’ll pray for you guys. It does comfort me to know that God is sovereign over all of this and sees the big picture even when we don’t 💜. And that’s great to hear about the schedule!! That’s definitely a big win!! 🙌🏻
This has made me reconsider catechism. I might have to do this for my kids even though my oldest is in high school…maybe especially bc my oldest is in high school.
Adding your homeschool prayer challenge every Monday to start my week has definitely been a win for me. It has shifted my focus and I am very grateful for it! You mentioned possibly using Mystery of History. We started Volume 1 this year and are 27 lessons in. We are not using every component of it due to the sake of time but we read the story, do an activity if we have time, and we are making a timeline list as we go through. They list activity options for all ages which is great. We don’t do the quizzes or tests but that is an option. I use them more as an “ask aloud” for review. My kids are really loving it so far and we have learned so much. It is truly bringing the Bible to life which is one of my favorite things about it so far. The lessons (stories) are bite size but so full of information, which is very nice. Sometimes I wish we had more time in the day so we could spend more time on it. Also, one more thing…you are doing such a great job! You are such a mom and it shows in all of your videos! Thanks for letting God use you on this channel! ❤
Aww thank you Traci, that really is an encouragement to me 💜 And thank you for sharing about the curriculum! I like how you use only certain parts but still get a lot out of it…because time is definitely a concern for me, and we aren’t big “project do-ers”, so it’s good to hear that those are not necessary. I think Volume 1 would cover SOME of what we are studying this year, but that might make it a good reinforcement. A question is, do you repeat the books if you get through all 4 volumes? My son will be in 8th grade next year, so if we did this and stuck with it, he would use it for 8-11th…and then back to volume 1? Or obviously we could choose something else for 12th…
@@blessedhomeschool This is our first time using it so I am really not sure of my plan yet but I can see us starting back over with Volume 1 once we finish all of the volumes possibly. My son is in 8th grade this year and my daughter is in 4th. So I will run into the same issue where I will have to figure out something for his 12th grade. But my plan for now is to just take 1 year at a time and see how it goes.
I think you've hit a new record. You had me crying inside a minute. Last week was one of those weeks when we did a lot of stuff but not the stuff on my to do list. In addition, we just got a new puppy and sickness in the home. It was a weird week and frustration and overwhelm abounded. I needed this today.
Oh friend...I feel you!! I have a hard time reminding myself it's ok to set the to-do list aside at times 💜. Will pray for you this week, and hope everyone is feeling better! What kind of puppy did you get??
I will be honest that I haven’t not watched all the prayer challenges but man every time I do it is so timely. This one hit my heart and something I am needing Gods grace to help me work on. Thank you again.
I have a sort of silly question. My daughter watched part of this video with me and she said the voice in the lesson really bothered her for some reason. She would probably be starting with Algebra 1 though. Do all the levels have that same voice for the lessons? Or is there a way to change the voice? Thank you!
This does look really nice. I’ve heard those stories are really good! Thanks for sharing. I may have to add this in! How long do you think this might take to do?
I’m guessing less than an hour, depending on the craft! Maybe only 30 minutes some days. You could split up the readings during different parts of the day too!
@@blessedhomeschool they are amazing. They have a wonderful preschool curriculum and nature studies. Their Christmas curriculum is for smaller children.
Hi, What age did you use singapore math and then switch to CTC math? Trying to figure out if I should start my 3rd grader with singapore or ctc. This is our first year homeschooling. What would you recommend? Thanks
We did Singapore 1 and 2, and we actually used BJU Press from grades 3-5. My son started CTC in grade 6 (my girls in grade 5). I don’t think you can go wrong with either, a lot would depend on your personal style/preference! If it were me, I would start my 3rd grader with CTC if you haven’t been using Singapore already 😊.
You do such an amazing job friend!! I will say, when my big kids were younger it was definitely harder. It gets easier as everyone is starting to pitch in a bit 💜
We're doing BJ U for k5 bible this year and I've decided I love BJU. We're thinking of using them for other subjects next year any suggestions for BJU that we should look at for the future?
Ohhh. ALL of it!! I love BJU too! I’ve used the complete curriculum for 2nd-5th grade, a mixture of online video lessons and teacher led. I don’t think you can go wrong if you like their style! Such a Biblically solid curriculum.
We invite people over to get motivated to clean too! Plus we enjoy hosting! 😂 Great look at your routine!😊 We love flexibility here too. I still haven’t been able to make the lunch menu. My kids don’t like the same types of lunch foods. 🤦🏻♀️ So we couldn’t even agree to make the schedule yet. 😮
Oh absolutely, I sure hope that was implied, we love hosting and the company too…the cleaning is just a bonus 🤪 I’m lucky that my kids aren’t too picky, I agree that can be tricky! This particular lunch I did make a sandwich for one daughter, but I don’t typically (thankfully) do that much.
I truly enjoyed your routine. I like the structure, variety in lessons and the amount of breaks you give yourself and your children. We also do World Watch News at lunch and we have a lunch basket too. It's a calm time in the day. I'm on your email list and I appreciate your messages. Keep up the good work. 😊
You can actually create and print worksheets for any level right from CTCMath! I also print out the weekly revision sets and use those as worksheets rather than have my kids do them online.
Is there a placment test ctc offers to put them where they need to be? Also, does ctc math give your kid lessons taylored to his needs or do you have to assign your kids lessons? I dont want to be the one to choose what lessons he does
There are diagnostic tests for each grade level and topic. You could start with those and then figure out where you’d like your child to start based off of those!
