5:00 my eye pressure is so low (<5) following the procedure that I can’t see anything with that eye. After eight weeks I’ve lost hope of the vision returning.
I had Acrysoft IQ Panoptix lenses for presbyopia over three years ago. I am unhappy with the outcome. I had excellent pre-operative distance and intermediate vision (uncorrected 6/4 Snellen both eyes) but needed 2.0 - 2.5 dp correction for reading. I had pre-existing PVD with troublesome floaters for which I had had laser therapy. I did not know that this in itself reduced contrast sensitivity. I was not a big reader and only wanted to be able to see my computer screen at work without reading glasses (I was a locuming GP working in many locations and it was a disaster if I mislaid my readers). Post-operatively I was given an 0.5 dp astigmatism in both eyes (different axes). I was not warned about this common effect of ocular incision beforehand. The addition of MF IOL further reduces contrast sensitivity and I find the the combination to be a problem in some situations such as driving in overcast conditions, driving near dawn and dusk. I find it hard to locate objects when light conditions are poor in situations where I could have previously. My enjoyment of scenery near to dawn and dusk is diminished. It also makes the perception of floaters worse (I presume because the contrast of the shadow produced on the retina remains undiminished whereas the contrast in the target image is reduced). I now suffer from "double vision" in certain situations such as with simply shaped bright objects on darker backgrounds such as posts, traffic signs, the edges of light coloured cars or shiny cars. All the dirt and squashed flies on your windscreen are in just as clear focus as the road ahead so you will need to keep it scrupulously clean. I can no longer enjoy a night sky as they are bright objects on a black background surrounded by ghost images/fringes. It is important to realise that halos around lights are not diffuse nor single, but multiple sharply defined halos around point sources. As every element of an image is a point of light, the optical effects from simple superposition/convolution lead inexorably to the visual effects described. These are more evident in some visual scenes than others. There are huge sums of money to be made from this technology and I think a lot of professional dishonesty to preserve this status quo, even amongst members of professional colleges. Careful patient selection is key as is stated at the start of this video and I should have been strongly advised not to undergo treatment. I don't know the financial model and incentives for those working in Ultralase, Optimax, Optegra etc... and how this might affect patient selection. My advice is to be very careful indeed.😡 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WIdGqTMoCqQ.html
Sir, I had clareon autonome with viscoat implanted about 6 weeks back.I find it very difficult to go out in sunlight with burning of eyes and blurring. Why it is so?
I love my monofocal lens. My distance vision is super sharp with the best contrast. Driving at night (age 72) is great, bright light with no halos. I only use reading glasses for reading small print. Cell phone not sharp but very usable. No glasses needed for driving. Dash is sharp. I would not give up what I have for any multifocal. Dim light and contrast loss is a problem with multifocal lenses.
I am wondering if you read this, if you can give me an unbiased opinion. Age 69, female worn glasses since age 10. Astigmatism. Last glasses made, which worked fine R sphere +.750 cyl - 2.250 axis 5. L sphere + .250 cyl - 2.000 axis 175 Then it says ADD R 2.50. SEG HGT 20.0 DIST PD 32.8. L ADD 2.50 SEG HGT 20.0 DIST PD 32.0. Had right eye cataract surgery 3/9/2022. Tori’s lens Acry Sof IQ Toric IOL . Day after Dr removed cover said all looked good use prednisone acetate usp 1% 4 x day first week, 3 / day second week, 2/day 3rd week 1/ day last week. Day 2 after surgery eye as if had been coated with Vaseline. No pain at all. Extremely blurry. Day 3 same visual effect 0 improvement. Day 4 very minor improvement but vision very blurry. My vision in my left eye without glasses is far better than in my right eye with the new lens. Day 5, today, Sunday, another dr saw me at the hospital and said all symptoms to be expected. No infection present, cornea inflamed will cause the blurry vision. In the semi dark room I could read the chart with a black plastic spoon covering the left eye she said vision was perfect, but the moment I cover my left eye and try to see how my vision is in the right eye it’s still as if I’m looking through a hazy lens. TheToric lens is for distance alone. As of now I can I unequivocally say that my vision at 5 days after surgery is 80 % worse than when I had the surgery. This is very scary and disconcerting, even with the Dr. Telling me today that all looks well. Your opinion would be appreciated. Maybe even help someone else.
I do not know why FDA doesn't approve these treatment as lot of people are suffering because of the AMD!!! Thanks for your work and can we have addresses of ophthalmologists using Valeda light delivery system?
