My D300 has a bunch of dead pixels on the sensor so I seldom use it anymore but it was a great camera and weather sealed as well.Wanted to use it on my older AFD lenses along with my D700 but I got a used Zfc to replace it. Maybe the 300s has a different sensor because it has video. Good review. Regards Gerry
I think the main difference between to D300 and D300s was video and slightly faster continuous shooting. I fond I'm very heavy rian the top lcd can fog up a bit but does not affect the camera.
Dead pixels is no problem if you shoot in raw. When you import raw files in lightroom it automatically takes care on any dead or stuck pixels. Does not work with jpeg so use raw.
Yep, I have more older cameras such as a D700, D3x which have developed dead pixels but lightroom saves the day. Or you can remap your sensor at a Nikon service point but when you shoot in raw no problemo.
Thank you so much for telling me that I had no idea that Lightroom did that. I’ve never used it but I always shoot in raw anyways. Now I can use my D300 again it was a great camera and still is. We live in a throwaway society, and I hate to throw anything away. But last few months I bought a Nikon Zfc and that sensor is much better in low light than my D3 hundred was. 1600 ISO was the max for that camera before it started to get really noisy. Although apparently the new Noise software is excellent and takes away all the noise so there’s obviously hope for that camera but I sure enjoy shootingwith Zfc, it’s just like my old Nikon FE camera which I shot with for years on film. Regards Gerry
I picked up a body only D300s from CEX for £115. I had the lens on a F70, 28-85 is a great lens. Then went on the CEX website and bought a 35-70 that’s my go to lens. I love it.
The D300s is a little brother to the D3S, built like a tank, and it produces great images! Everyone always wants the greatest and latest. What matters is how well you use the tool in your craft.
Could not agree more. Older camer just means you have to work a little harder to get great shots. I think starting with an older camera will make a person a better photographer as you have to think more
Thanks for the review. I picked up a D300s and 50mm AF-D lens a couple of years back after a long break from photography. It’s a great camera for the price, even if they currently aren’t as cheap as a few years ago. I’ve since moved on to a more modern mirrorless camera (selling the D300s to make space), but may pick one up again to pair with my F100.
Get yourself a silicone band and attach the other band to it that way you can take it off after use our even a hair bobble that way you Dont have to shower with it on
Horrible. It was destroyed. It used to have a monorail, cable cars, bright colour buildings, out dorr swimming pool, flower gardens, boating lake. All entertainment free. Now it is ruined. Look at old Butin's vids.
I remember the monorail it was good. From what I understand it has been taken over by another company who is putting money back into the site. Hopefully it will get back to how it used to be.
@@ScottTraynor Yes. They tore the three resorts that are left apart, The others were demolished. They should have kept the ones remaing as they were intended. I know the accomodation needed replacing and upgrades here and htere but I don't think it was right to completley destroy the origional.
If you go to find a break on the butlins website most of September Is between £50 - £60 for 4 nights in a silver room. The price drops really low for some weeks in March and September.
Sorry Amy we are already back from the trip. I would have loved to do a video on the restaurants but they are far to busy. The food was not worth it the last two times we went. I would recommend just eating off site.
Great video! It's easy to get the deities in the Elysium Closet confused, especially when there are Roman or Greek names for all of them... from right to left, it should be: Athena, Hermes, Hera, Zeus, Heracles, Ares, Artemis, Dionysus and Aphrodite. Granted, it's hard to recall them all on the spot!
I am appalled at NatureLand and the Seal enclosures 😮 the mere fact they are kept in captivity in those conditions. They should be sent to a real Zoo. Nevermind the funding. You shouldn't be allowed to keep seals or any other aquatic life in such small and dirty conditions. Wow it actually spoilt my watching your video. Thank you for showing us around Skegness.
They where actually cleaning the tanks as the water was dirty. I did a third vlog on mablethorpe seal sanctuary just up the road which has a lot more animals like big cats etc. I decided not to post the video as the place was so run down.
There are some really great prices coming up with Butlins. Hope you have a great time, Would highly recommend checking out Lincolnshire wildlife park if you get the chance. We are looking at Butlins Bognor Regis in March for around the same price.
