Our love for breeding and raising fish of all species is transformed into this channel where we focus on making videos that we think other aquarium hobbyists want to see. Fishroom tours of rare species such as: Cichlids, Guppies, Endlers, Swordtails, Rainbowfish, Geophagus, and Angelfish just to name a few. We are passionate about DIY projects in this hobby and create videos on products we love, as well as tips and tricks to improve your experience with fish keeping. We run a small business out of our home in Mid Michigan. Honestly we are just trying to help pay for some aspects of our hobby while improving the quality of fish available to others who enjoy keeping fish. We hope you enjoy!
Man wish I could have made it to the fishroom before you shut it down but I get it- family time is always a priority. Can always come back to the fish whenever you get the itch or when the kids are gone. Enjoyed the video either way
Thanks Jason, yep the option to get back to fish is always there. We are about half way done with the sale I would say. I will try to do an update on the change and what's left in the next week or so.
It's probably a good thing for me that I'm in a different state. I would no doubt go broke. Beautiful collection of fish and your plants look to be in amazing condition and size. I looked at your web page, are you still shipping?
Time flies by so I wish you have a wonderful series of family memories both BIG and small, I was very fortunate to have my dad accompany me to every practice and every single game that I ever played. Best of luck to your collection going to decent people who are more than happy to give you the best price 💚💙
I know this is 3 years ago and don't know if ur still on here but i have these fish as well and they just gave birth this morning. I have/had 2 pregnant females amd i know 1 is still holding. I got 13 babies so far and can't believe they would of came from 1 female seeing how big the babies are.
I remember the first time I came over. Those Rainbow fish were the size of a grain of sand. We need to see that male cichlid tank upstairs! Lol Always enjoy the fish room updates.
Glad to hear that Tim! Excited to see your fish journey and thanks for the comment. I'm far from a guru, some of these youtubers have 3-4x my experience. I'll take the compliment though thanks.
the mixed tank of guppies all the females are no good once they have other males around from other strains they will be in pregnated by them and they hold the sperm inside and will no longer be pure line and not worth pulling any fish other then nice males
actually, i'm about to open my own fish store in the philippines. been watching youtube videos about closed loop air systems. do u think closed loops increase the air flow/air pressure as compared to linear (not sure if linear is the term where the i basically use 3 air blowers. 1 air blower for this side (straight for 100ft), another air blower for this side (straight for 40ft) and lastly another air blower for another 40ft straight? coz my store is big. like 100ft x 12ft and practically all the 2x100ft sides are lined with fish tanks (no fish tanks on the 2x12ft sides). a total of maybe 300 to 400 airline drops. i'm worried my 400w hailea vb800 vortex blower is not able to provide enough air pressure for all the airline drops. i actually have 3 air blowers ready. but damn. the electrical consumption is gonna be high. 1x400w, 1x180w, 1x120w. if i can only use the 1x400w to power all my fish tanks, that would be super!
It sounds like you have a good plan and fingers crossed that the 400w is large enough for you. I don't have experience with blowers unfortunately, but people I know who used them were not super happy with the supplied air pressure they were getting. 400 drops is a lot but the water depth of the tanks is the key factor. You can get away with twice as many drops if all your tanks are short (like 10gal or 20gal longs) The problem comes in when you need to push air down to the bottom of tall tanks. If it was me I would take the time to plumb everything together, and have area's to hook in all of your air pumps / blowers. Adding PVC valves in case you need to separate the system or take a pump offline is pretty easy and cheap. I own 3 pumps and have two running at a time with one on standby. If one pump dies I can swap out the backup easily. Also running two pumps gives you redundancy so that when one goes bad the other still supplies air to most of your tanks.
excuse me, but why'd you say "i don't think u could get away with it using a 1inch pipe?" I think u were referring to not using pvc glue. if 1 inch pipes were used, you would've needed to glue the pipes?
They might be my new favorites honestly. I have some batches growing up that are about 3/4" now and already showing some good color. If your serious about getting them before Spring and are patient on waiting for a good window of weather for shipping email me mymetafish.gmail.com We shutdown the website shipping when temps consistently get below 50deg F which is getting close... Dang Winter. You can always wait till Spring also, they will be really nice by then.
Always enjoy seeing a fishroom tour, seem to be less and less videos of them online. Really hoping I can make it to some of the Michigan swaps this year, fingers crossed the little guy and I can cross the bridge this fall
I kept the light on for about 2 weeks straight 24hrs per day before the green water started and kept the sponge filter air supply on very low. 8 little rainbowfish were in the container and a couple snails.
The Mystery is solved!!! TY for this Richard! All of my observations support this. Everytime I get pink water it is from a tank with a sponge filter that came from a particular fishroom I bought out a long time ago.
These are awesome! Thanks for the tour. I can't wait till after I move then I'm going to be shopping around for a larger aquarium for some angelfish. They're just gorgeous fish.
Hey joe won’t the fish eat the hydra? Great tour by the way! Your fish room is immense! Such nice variety. I might be reaching out for some livebearers, if you have them on your site I will check. Anyhow thanks again!
Hi Pelham Thanks again for the support! Some fish do eat the hydra but most livebearers in my experience don't. At least not enough to eradicate it with me feeding baby brine shrimp daily.
