Now if we could just find our missing "code enforcement" employees as there are plenty of items that need addressed.. you only have to drive around our high school to see where they fall short. From the mounds of dirt and equipment kept on the abandoned lots to the temporary fencing in the fields.. the place is somewhat of a mess around our newly renovated schools.
Were you able to find it? We do not monitor RU-vid but if you did not find it, it closes tomorrow, so you still have time to apply at: az-apache.civicplushrms.com/Careers/JobDetail.aspx?enc=QPQDKqwXNuJybHyCBjvzpyTFUtS63n4DAcQ6gfzlT/CWjVcQEK23NsPPWAVQFM8D.
Couple of items of interest..(1.) Splash Pad that homeless used for bathing... this could easily be solved with an outside shower facility behind or beside the our police station.. we should encourage our homeless population to congregate near where public service are more readily available. It should be the same for the park ramadas... if the homeless are using the ramadas give them a place to go.. near the police and social services support. (2.) Public art.. the biggest impact for public art is also from the center out.. start at the roundabout.. and grow it from there. The dog park while not on city property is a good example of a public art display. (3,) If you want people to think favorable of this city clean up the city corridors that lead into the area... specifically the properties across from new renovated school property at Ironwood and Southern.. Have code enforcement request cleanup of the property directly across the street from the high school entrance.. remove the large mound of dirt and unused lift equipment. Code enforcement should also request the removal of the temporary fence across the street from the high school parking lot. (4.) We should have an ordinance around how long a temporary can be in place. When compared to the permanent fence install around the property at NW corner of Ironwood and Southern the comparison is in stark contrast to the temporary fencing just up the street. While these things might seem minor to some ... it will make a big difference in our this city is perceived by people visiting our community or looking to invest into our community.
