Jennifer English’s is my favorite voice in this game. She was better than Neil to me!

i noticed the BG2 chants among the unknown/unused ones. and here i thought they only went to the extra effort of recording new chants. nope, they went to the extra extra effort of recording new ones, AND old ones.

That’s cool! Some words I kinda knew since some latin words sound the same in Spanish except latin has that flair. Wait is that why we’re called Latinos?

Some accents are on the wrong syllables, and it's a curious mix of classic and church Latin, but... It's amazing the length they went for this, where any other game could have gone with gibberish. Some of those are also parts of actual Latin proverbs, ex. "Risus abundat..." (Laughter abunds...) should end with "...in ore stultorum." (...in the mouth of fools.)

Unpopular opinion im sure but as someone who grew up reading latin and hearing and speaking several latin languages... the actress super exagerated pronounciation is a bit grating to my ear, how the vowels and the Rs are pronounced. She does just way too much.

I love the effort, but to an italian nothing will ever sound more stupid than an english speaker trying to speak latin without checking the right pronunciation. She's doing a great job, but larian should have given her a coach

8:11 Actually, the line should be a bit different, since "facere" has a special property. In its imperative form, it is one of few words to be contracted to just its root, which is..."fac". This is also why I think that they changed it lol. (This also applies to "dicere" turning it into..."dic". In German schools, it is common to teach these irregular words as the mnemonic "Dic, duc, fac, fer", which is just peak funny to me.

Thinking about all those actors recording all these lines, the animations that accompany each spell (both the character movements and the look of the spell itself) AND the super cool sound effects that each spell makes….all this shows such an incredible attention to detail, that really pays off. It creates so many moments during combat that feel so epic and satisfying. All the actors did such a great job in their performances, these lines are just one of the many ways in which their talent shines! Shadowheart and Wyll’s actors are particularly memorable for me with their readings of these spells!!
