52 male. For years my doctors still can't find cause of low oxygen at higher altitudes that doesn't get better no matter if I'm there for weeks. Flying on 8000ft pressurized cabin I feel ill and have O2 of low to mid 80s%. Every time i fly. I have had blood clots and OE DVT in past. On Xarelto. VQ scan last year was negative. Heart tests negative. Lungs look okay. Pulmonologist is worthless and says I'm fine. I went to Sedona Arizona and the altitude there was horrible for me the week I was there. Low 80s% even at night wearing my Bipap machine to sleep. Woke up with black eyes. I want an answer and want to fly more. But I dread it. I see 80 to 90 old veterans on the plane having no issues breathing. Who can help me?
I was diagnosed 1 month after my sister with breast cancer. I know you mind is going crazy right now. Do know one thing about breast cancer. The researchers have come so far and advanced in treatments. May sure you are your own advocate and get 2nd and 3rd opinions.
