That day was my 5th birthday! I year later I would become a huge fan of Robert Urich in S.W.A.T. and VEGA$, and of John Ritter in Three's Company. Tremendously talented, intelligent and handsome actors. Had the pleasure of interchanging a few emails with Mr. Urich many years later before his passing and discussing his passion for travelling the world and my admiration for his work on TV and film.
It’s a replica. The original movie suits had a much greener tint to them as not to blend in with the blue screen shots. Look closely at the weave of the fabric too. This suit is a brand new tighter weave. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a phenomenal suit. But Christopher Reeve never wore it. More than likely this suit was made by Action Costumes.
It's basically an awkward, early version of "Go" or the bonus game of NBC Chain Reaction. There are many things this pilot needed to fix. First of all, the silence when the game is played without the Pyramid clock ticks gets awkward, and the laughing & commentary in between wrong answers is distracting. Steve Edwards looks *very* uncomfortable as host and has no personality. I can tell he is basically just reading cue cards. Kevin O'Connell was a much stronger host when this pilot was retooled as Go.
These bumpers should have been included in the DVD series. Just like how the show was when it aired on tv back in the 80s. Don't understand why they were left out. These bumpers were always fun to see. Love ya Orko. RIP Lou Scheimer. You are deeply missed ❤️
In 1983 there was an exhibition in the Lobby of the Daily News building...some Daily Planet scenes were filmed here....they had two mannequins....one with the 1978 movie costume and the other was a grey and brown George Reeves costume from the B&W days. I don't think they had the boots for that one.
