Heard this full theme in a dream i had. So it inspired me to come here, and rewatch the series again on iPlayer. The childhood memories this theme and the show brings me is unreal. Take me right back to Saturday nights as a 10, 11, and 12 year old boy.
By the end of the film I was crying my heart out. It doesn't happen to me very often, but this movie... couldn't stop crying. This is by far my favorite film. Naomi Watts was brilliant in her role. Really brilliant. AlsoEdward , of course, but Naomi took it to a new level. She had the more difficult role, she embodied Kitty's development and change so convincingly. And Kitty's sadness and despair, that was... well, if you haven't cried over her loss, you can't have a heart. A very special film. And the soundtrack was perfectly chosen. It's Eric Satie's Gnossiennes No1.
This song was stuck in my head after the film ended. Was great. Watched it because I loved period pieces, but ended up identifying with both of them at different points. Getting old at 31.😢
Gives me shivers guaranteed every time I hear this, an epic movie, 2 very strong characters, more movies like this pls and not those superhero 543369 part ones. Fortunately I own a limited copy on bluray format from Korea, ltd to 700 copies worldwide. Did watch it since I have it like 20 times.
Robin Hood of the Ballads say King was Edward. a Prioress of Kirkly..here we go.. a Prioress is a woman in charge of nuns.. and Kirkly in 1400s England during reign of King Edward means "Church Fields".. later on, that place Kirkly was renamed the Benefice of Lower Wensleydale.. there are 6 churches there that make a face.. Look at St. Marys Church.. just about 350 yards east is Hornby Castle.. Home of the Conyers at one time.. Sir John Conyers Jr was the Robin Hood of the Ballads aka Robin of Redesdale.. just not the first to use name... he was leader of the York Knights.. Sir Robert Hulderne was Robin of Holderness..he was Captain of the York Rebels.. there is only one record of a man using name Friar Tuck in 1417 and 1429.. Sir John Conyers was in mid 20s age when he met Friar Tuck age mid 50s : )
I always remember this movie being one of those movies you never forget and just touches you for some reason. Also the music/ soundtrack for this movie is one of the most beautiful! I don't know how to play piano but I have vowed that I am going to learn to play this song on along with River Waltz. Wish me luck.
This series is timeless this song really tugs at the heart especially knowing how soul crushing the season 2 finale is and the series finale such a heavy feeling this series will always be one of my favorites
this is my favorite piece. it is so so so beautiful. seriously, it haunts me, some nights i even dream about this song. its so clear and clean and beautiful and just all good thing and happy but theres also a haunting sound in the background, especially when the violins started playing. you know exactly that its not gonna end well, but you still try to hold in to the beauty of the bad thing. because there definitely is a beauty in them. it sometimes feels so good and you just try to avoid the bad side and try to run away from it, but it will always follow you and the outcome is even more magnificient.
