Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It’s confusing - the ports for RS232 come in many different styles, like USB, DB25, DB9 and even RJ45. On this unit, it is an RJ45 port on the mother board of the USB Connect to keep the unit small. The unit transfers over the supplied cable. It’s NOT an Ethernet port on this unit, like your computer has. We appreciate your comment!
The Portable is $700 - it saves the customer a few hours of install time, it's not dedicated to one machine AND we have a Black Friday sale going on for USB products starting next week if you need more than one. Hope that helps!

Hi good day I have a cnc 6 of 1 spindol, I want to replace the diskette with a converter, but there is no way to record the .NC programs so that the CNC recognize them and send me power, I could help
