My son has so much confidence from just one of your videos. We are homeschooling this year and couldn’t feel more blessed to come across your teachings.
what technique would you recommend for pronouncing the x and k sound properly with a lisp, as it makes a really gushy sound with my lisp when I try and say it??
Hi my son saw a speech therapist yesterday. We never been there before. She asked me 3 questions then told me if I can step out so she can be with him by her self in the room with him . He started crying after I stepped out . He was crying the whole time . She came out 5 Mims later n said I have to take him somewhere else. So I felt annoyed. Of course he's going to cry I'm not in there and he dont kno you . Any advice ?
My non verbal child diagnosed with severe autism is finally speaking at six. His behavior which was also extremely hyperactive is more tamed and he is listening. People arent getting vital pieces of information that will be extremely helpful to them. There are a subset of autistic children, specifically those who have adhd as well who benefit immensely from supplemental treatment. Ill tell all of you what his doctor told me.."it starts in the gut" think about that very intensely. Nevertheless, we gave him zeolites, and pqq as well as gingko biloba and fish oil, and in about one week he said his name, his cats name, hi, and the word yes. If you arent going to start at the beginning, then im not keen on these speech videos. Ill say one more thing, unless the root cause is fixed they well never speak or seldom speak because they have significant damage to the part of the brain that controls speech, as well as the cns (central nervous system). If you care about families youd start by examing the babies diet before 2 years old...this comment will likely get deleted but i recommend researching these things. Start with medical findings online published by accredited sources
Love this! My kiddos LOVED the Old Mother West Wind stories this last year. I believe Librivox has some of them recorded for free. Also, we really enjoyed reading through A Child’s Introduction to the Orchestra as we did our composer study. It was fun to learn each instrument and hear an array of different classical pieces. Praying you guys have a lovely time in Alaska and a wonderful school year!
Oh wonderful! I will most definitely look into those recs! I almost forced you to get in on this video because I knew you would have all the best insight!

Thanks so much for this video, needed help with an assignment in school. Omg tho, I just noticed in the background at 1:17 or 1:18 there’s a shadow that moves on the wall in the hallway behind you. What is that? Is that a person casting a shadow? It kind of flashed in my peripheral and I got scared
🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 00:00 *🗣️ S and Z sounds can be distorted by frontal or lateral lisps, affecting clarity in speech.* 01:06 *🪞 Using a mirror helps clients visualize tongue placement and correct frontal lisps by keeping the tongue behind teeth.* 02:06 *🥤 Practicing with a straw helps redirect airflow forward to correct lateral lisps, improving speech clarity.* 02:38 *🎤 Practicing a long T sound can aid in transitioning to correct S and Z sounds, enhancing speech fluency.* 03:31 *🤲 Visual cues can reinforce correct tongue positioning and airflow direction when correcting lateral lisps.* Made with HARPA AI
Helpful, thanks. I'm 36 years old and have been "gliding" to W's my whole life. I can make the sound fine in isolation, but using it as part of a word feels impossible without sounding extremely weird and slow. It's a very hard thing to correct this late in life.
Hey I am 16 and I can't talk with peoples I get terroir when I talk with communities especially I can't to say the letter M B T SH CH J but I think this video will help me thanks a lot
I got this herbal supplement from #droyalo channel and used it on my son for 4week and within the period of using it there was positive changes which really urge me to continue and I can say my son is free from autism now as his speech and social skill has improved
Wonderful explanation of how to listen to, observe and understand how children with ASD communicate as well as how we as adults should communicate back with our children. Love it!
I commented before that I wasn't sure if my son was autistic yet when he was 22 months old but that he was showing signs since about 8 or 9 months old. He is now almost 27 months old and I found out that he IS autistic. Working with a speech therapist currently. On our 6th session tomorrow. Wondering how involved the therapist should be in treatment with him at this point because I feel like maybe not enough is happening there. But what do I know? Lol. I'm not a speech therapist. So I'm trying to find out what things I should be looking for her to be doing with him at this point in his therapy. Or if I should be looking for a more motivated therapist for him.
I'm 13 going to 14 and I've had a lisp through middle school I'm trying to get rid of it but I don't know how to place my tongue. Thankfully, no one has pointed it out, but I do want to get rid of it as when I hear myself in recording on when I'm speaking with others I'm not comfortable my lisp is the most noticable. Sometimes I try to thing if words to say without the S. So, even thinks I'm so quiet, I'm just scared because of my lisp.
So literally everything has pros and cons. You listed far more pros than cons as well. MOST reviews are 4.5 to 5.0 stars, but there’s always “that person”. I’ve had mine 2 years and they have been amazing! Still look brand new. I use them like any others stainless steel pan.. except for the scrubber when I hand wash. For that, it’s a gentle brush or sponge.
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed them! Like I said, they are a great pan for the right home. I applaud Caraway in many ways! I’ve only tried to share why they ultimately weren’t the best set up for our needs, so as to help someone trying to weigh both sides before buying.
I aspirate fairly frequently. I recall my mother doing so as she got older. Now that I am in my 70s, I am aspirating more frequently, too. Is there a correlation between aging and frequency of aspiration?
Oh I’m sure the correlation is probably there! But causation would be a whole other element at play. I’d recommend getting a proper evaluation done if you are feeling like you are aspirating often. Best of luck to you!
Great video and thank you for sharing your knowledge! For anyone else watching, just wanted to add that a problem with the l sound can be caused by a tongue tie. Some people have tongue ties without realizing. After a tongue tie release procedure, the tongue will have to build strength and learn how to say sounds like L, D, and T. A speech and swallowing therapist can help with this. It is harder to have a tongue tie release in adulthood since the palate will already have formed at a weird angle due to tongue thrust with a restricted tongue, and the tongue will be “large” for the mouth if released, so better to get it done as a young child or baby. Important to do stretching exercises after the release or it will reattach. Tongue tie release is a specialized procedure not performed by most dentists. Find a good pediatric dentist in your area if interested to evaluate, and find a speech and swallowing therapist to provide therapy exercises before and after the release. Make sure both are educated in tongue tie releases before proceeding.
As it currently stands, the letter X is wasted on sounds that already have letters to represent them. Why waste a letter on multiple sounds that already have letters when there are a bunch of sounds waiting in line for letters? Only the Clowns know why.
