We have imported this car to the Netherlands a couple of years ago and I have sold it to the Czech Republic. It is still owned by the same man there and he loves it.
Beautiful VW. Don't see many of these around. I found a 69 Ghia that was heading to the scrap yard to be crushed. My son and I are working on it together 👍 We have a couple of videos up and will be putting up more as we go along!👍✌️
0:10 That window on that sliding door, I wish many other vans had those just the same as on the solid walls, where the screen could open to let fresh air in without bugs, but most sliding door windows for most vans don't, any child in his or her seat by the sliding door wouldn't be allowed to flip the glass out because of the wind trying to blow it off and let bugs in, that wouldn't be fair for him/her.
This was a miniature model of the J2 that i saw in '71 or thereabouts In Ghana In Sub-Saharan Africa aa usual they as 'head and chassis 'and you would have look for a skilful carpenter to build the wooden frame Laborious Laborious work indeed!

Beautiful piece of engineering, this simple truck. A work of art, really. A relic of when people had pride in craftmanship and ownership, never to be seen again.
