A pragmatic solution, to an imperfect situation.. There rule books, and policies, and there are captains, and leaders who make their own decisions, when the problem doesn't quite neatly into a particular box, or "regulation"... Again, this is Star Trek.. Improvise, adapt, or be assimilated !!!!
For all that's being said about Woolsey, I really liked this as a Hammond moment too. You can tell that it's not just this moment but seven exhausting years of keeping the political weasels off the SGC's back so it can do its job coming home to roost. The fact that one of his closest friends and most valued colleagues was just killed is the cherry on the cake, hence cutting loose the way he did. Bad luck for Woolsey that it was him who had to be there to catch it, since he's probably the guy who deserves it least. But he's not giving anyone much reason to suspect he's anything more than another NID weasel at this point. His true colors shine through gradually.
Character Lawrence Wolsey was actually developed into a fantastic Stargate alliance ally. And general Hammond didn't like it but he saw it this scene. The convincing one is when Lawrence presented the evidence against his employer NID out of code of conduct. Great great great stuff. Later was commissioned command of the Atlantis expedition for Samantha to develope the eventual "universe". Which would have had more success if they didn't do it that "Galactica" BS way.
Robert Picardo saying "fellas you'll understand this" and totally objectifying Seven of Nine *as she's on the doctors table* is so depressing and sickening that I don't even know what to say. You order a little nostalgia and you just get creepy dehumanization ....thanks for that, the 2000s
I can just see Shakespeare writing a tragedy about Ransom. One of the questions the Equinox saga raises is: do desperation and dire circumstances drive people to evil, or do desperation and dire circumstances become their excuse for evil?
This is a great clip, and I can't put it any better than the posters below. "Lenny" has come a very long way from the Laverne & Shirley show for sure. So well acted and he played the character to perfection when you really give it some thought! Right down to the minor details like his being genuinely troubled by Harry questioning his ambitions and reasonings around his (Fear) ultimate reasoning as to why he does what he does, to the end (with a shoutout to the director to slowly fade to black) where he realizes he has been vanquished. And Janeway - well what a great actor herself! Congratulations to both of them! I would bet Kate Mulgrew does watch these clips, like most actors, and also reads these comments, it is simply human nature. I read so many comments from posters claiming all actors NOT taking the time to read comments or NOT caring to read them or watch videos of their past work. However, there is no way most actors (again) do NOT read these comments, in the most popular video sharing platform in the world, to get a sense of how people feel about their work; just like most of us need feedback and constructive critiques around our job performances, as unlike us this is their only source and comparable platform to what we call 'Performance Evaluations' or reviews. Well done to both!

Woolsey develops into such a great leader without ever loosing his objectivity, when he was first introduced I kinda hated him, but by the time he took command on Atlantis I really enjoyed his development.
So a regular cube destroys 40 starships at Wolf 359, but a super-duper cube can't destroy a single ship - Voyager which is half the size of Enterprise. And those are the inconsistencies that drive me crazy.
