Always love seeing the changes and results no matter how big or small. Sometimes the big results happen quickly and othertimes there are smaller developments which manifest into bigger more noticeable transformations later with this type of practice. Changing your practice methods is key for moving forward.
Fantastic video explaining torque. Basically the over the top is a clear loss of torque and a very common wind-unwind+up sequence. Vs a wind- up force+ auto unwind, being the pro move. Well done for capturing a great swing thought Marcus!!! I hope I captured it right here, apologies if I didn't
It's a common misconception in my opinion based on nothing but anecdotal evidence or literature. For example, advising seniors to pull their trail foot back is another one. It may encourage a draw but is a huge limiter for hip function and using the body to generate speed. It can actually just encourage an upper body driven motion.
I have issues where on video you will see my hands and arms behind my trail pocket and I start releasing early, even when I try to keep the wrist angles and throw my hands and arms through. Would these drills help get my hands and arms firing through and not release the club too early in this situation?
07:00 “often we don’t recognise how we’re loading the body. This is why you’ve got to be super disciplined with these exercises. Or it passes you by.“ That needs to be written wherever you practice.
Hi Erik, thanks for following. I really appreciate it and hope it helps your game. Yes it applies to all grips just varying amounts and dependent on your body movement. Your body creates the forces but also resists them so it's achieved by developing the sequence. Explore the grip but optimise your body movement first 👍
@@mick19421Wish you well Mick - enjoy your golf whatever standard - we are lucky to play this great game - fun and banter are as important as good golf as we age like fine wine 👍🏌️♂️😎 Do t think they would put my lesson on the channel was a tough change and not a traditional fix they normally do - Marcus spent a lot of time with me which was really appreciated and got me on track but plenty of work still to do
We post these lessons to hopefully provide helpful info and all you comment on is fetching a couple of tees. Sometimes the tees fly off the mat and yes we collect them although the pupil isn't asked or required to. Hope that answers your question 😂😂
I have been to GRF one year ago. The lesson was great, but Like Marcus always says, It's the begin of a journey. So ist took some time until the new swing settled in. But now the results show, my Handicap went from 9.2 to 6.3 (and I think there ist more to come 😬). And, more importantly, I hit my Irons so well, which was the main reason vor my visit. Additionally, through the body movement, my drives are definitely longer than before. One my Homecourse there ist a bunker which i couldnt get over since many years, now I can again! I'm 64 now, and I was wondering, If I should really change my swing at my age, but I'm so glad I did. I feel that I really hit the ball as good as never before (and I play the game since 47 years!). So, I can definitely recommend a trip to Doncaster to everybody, it is worth every quid! Thanks again Marcus, you are brilliant!
Such a great lesson I just don't understand why other coaches just don't teach this way. People would enjoy golf alot more if they can strike the ball as they would like too. I occasionally play these days but frustration just gets the better of me and has done for years. Great lesson again Marcus.
I'm in abit of a pickle I have the board I'm pretty good at doing all the drills but it doesn't translate to my Swing (steep in transition, early extension to shadow the club with a flip roll) and because I believe in marcus's teaching so I won't go to a PGA professional over in Ireland 😂 any advice Marcus?
Top drawer, passive arms reacting to the pivot, I've had and lost this feeling so many times over the years. The deeper I get the club behind me with good wrist hinge the easier it is to use only the pivot.
This is the main issue of the whole system. Not duplicating the motions as on piece, vs the forces and torques driving the motion… creating the separation of club, body and motions. Just my perceptions. Small motions creating larger momentum.
Hi Marcus, Great video. Many thanks! I have a question - Is this another demo of “low point”? Or did I not understand what you were demonstrating/how use of the lead shoulder promotes consistency? Could you please explain? Another video would be amazing!
I have been leading the stride with the Left Heel for years. It leaves the Femur Internal for longer. Something to Hit Against. For me, the the key is the differential between the Fall and the Rise. I know you like to use the Ball of your Foot, but after the Ball Pressure the Heel Strike Sends a Spiral Wave through the Body. For me anyways..
Hello Marcus. Thanks for your videos and the great explanation, I have developed a much better understanding of the golf swing and a better feel for my swing. Many thanks for that. Is there any chance that you will come to Germany? I would love to support you with a stay in our beautiful region. I think there are many fans in Germany who would travel to an event.
