Tax rates in Germany, South Korea, France, the UK, Japan, and so many countries are way too high, so high that blaming neoliberalism makes no sense. By taking half of your income, government deprives you of so much freedom because taxation drastically reduces the range of options you could otherwise afford. I'm sure Byung Chul Han has heard of North Korea, where population is starved and stumped on by its communist dictator.
