I think it’s more with the man made objects. Rocks are something you would find outside, and many creatures pretend to be them in the real world. Plants definitely existed before humans, and camouflage is made after them. But keys? The only place you would find them is on the kitchen counter, where no animal in their right mind would hide. A teapot? You would find that in the drawer, not in a mushroom forest. A pile of sand? Yea, you find those everywhere, so it’s fine. An ice cream cone though? No reason for a living thing to look like that. That’s just what I think though, not saying any options are bad, just justifying mine and others.
Sure, but you gotta remember they're not all animals. Klefki isn't made of keys, he's just the ring and he enjoys stealing shiny things. And there's exactly 1 reason for an animal to look like ice cream. Aggressive Mimicry. When a predator looks like they food of it's prey to lure it in, or when a parasite looks like the food of potential hosts to get close on purpose. And yeah, friendly debate is always welcome! Pretty sure they establish in-universe that the Vanillite line came first, and humans based ice cream off of those Pokemon... And Pokemon like Chandelure, Honedge, and Sinsitea are literally ghosts possessing objects. At least they have a lore explanation for it, unlike _Voltorb_ lol. XD
Personally, I prefer object pokémon if they are Ghost or Fairy type because it feels like that makes sense. Possibly psychic and steel types, too. For other types, it highly depends on how the design is executed. I think the execution matters a LOT more than the concept itself, and some object pokémon fail at that while others succeed. (Hell, even some pokémon from the types I mentioned fail at that as well while others succeed) Some examples of object pokémon I think are great designs: Aegislash, Chandelure, Palosand, Klefki, Comfey, Alcremie, Dachsbun, Porygon, Claydol, Bronzong, Rotom, Drifblim etc.
@WobbleHawk Ha well I certainly don't think the concept doesn't matter. But it is a lot easier to enjoy a silly concept if the execution is a good one and pretty hard to enjoy it if it isn't. There's also the matter of what people value in the designs and concepts that feel too personal for me to actually comment about, tbh.
Driftloon's ghost typing saves it because the idea of an object being posssessed by a spirit is an interesting concept. I would say this concept works best for the mystical type of pokemon like psychic, ghost, dark, and fairy types since there is a magical/supernatural theme to the pokemon. For other types it gets weird design wise so i get the criticism but i personally don't mind seeing the other types, I'm just clarifying this since I used to be one of those haters when I was a kid 😂.
Gen 5 was literally an homage to Gen 1 that’s why there are so many “item” Pokémon the gen 1 dex gets off way to easy. If you hate the gen 5 designs you need to take the nostalgia goggles off and hate gen 1. I’ve never agreed so hard with a controversial take lol

Not quite sure what the point you're trying to make with the item Pokémon thing is though. Do you mean that gen 5 is often ripped for having a lot of item Pokémon but gen 1 has an equal amount?
Call of Duty in a presentation almost gets the same response as when Just Dance shows up in a Nintendo Direct reaction. Also, wasn't Gen 8 so bad/barebones that the season of the anime covering it just did the concept described in this video instead?
Re: driftloon (and some of the other mentioned Pokémon such as the plants) it's not immediately obvious what it is. Sure if you take a minute and go hey wait if it only had one string and was a different shape and different looking material that's just a balloon, youll find that with a fair number of Pokémon. But notice that with drifloon they didn't just smash some anime eyes on the platonic idea of a balloon i.e. 🎈. Now take a look at fuckin idk YOUR TINY CREAM BOY for instance. And they've just. Smooshed a face and arms onto the platonic ideal of soft serve ice cream. No one looks at that and has a moment where they don't think it's ice cream.

@DCDex05 hey dude, really weird place to take this really fast. This is a silly video about Pokémon. We are all playing in this space together. I don't mean this in a condescending way but you seem like you might be a little young; this generally isn't a great way to interact with people you don't know on the internet and comes off really hostile. I am not going to write you, someone I have never interacted with before, an essay on every Pokémon that I don't think is particularly interesting or creative. That's not a reasonable thing to ask someone to do, especially in this context of comments on a RU-vid video. I am friends with this person irl and we argue about our takes on Pokémon for fun. I personally think the less creative or well developed Pokémon are due to the time crunch the Pokémon team are put under to produce new games, and it makes me sad to feel like they phone it in. I have opinions on Pokémon because I've been playing the games and otherwise interacted with the media for years, and through that time have developed my own ideas and tastes. Please don't interact with the internet in this way, I don't think it will lead to you having a healthy relationship with the online space. This is not an appropriate response to this situation.
Not to brag but I'm probably one of the few people who like the ice cream family FROM THE BEGINNING! But really didnt care that much for Geodude. Also Pokémon is a magical world where animals have magical powers ANYTHING CAN BE A POKÉMON!!
nooo ice can't be super effective against rocks, they already have 5 weaknesses (ice-types main use now is to set up aurora veil and they still have the best status condition to ever exist in the games 🤗). Rock is the real victim, their moves always miss 😭
Wasn't dragonite not even an OU pokémon in gen 1? I thought back then, ice was more about spamming STAB blizzards while the move hadn't yet been nerfed. Though maybe I'm more specifically thinking of 2-player singles battles than you are. Ice can at least say it didn't get walled by the new type. And at least got to be cool in gen 1, which gave it an abusable STAB, rather than giving it a basically unique advantage to the strongest type its pokémon weren't even allowed to take advantage of. It really does seem that ice types can be glad they're not bug types and bug types can be glad they're not ice types sometimes.
Fairy is a cool type. Cute thing that beats up all the scary and cool types while also leaning into mythological influences with the Poison and Steel weaknesses (besides Fairy, is anyone even weak to Poison?). Even if Ice Pokémon were boosted to not be slow and fragile, I'd still want Fairy to be around and that's when I can only think of 2 off-hand. Dragon, on the other hand, annoys me more than it used to. The idea of Dragonite and Dragonair being anti-starter Pokémon is such a niche gimmick that not only stops making sense when Pokémon boosted its multi-player functions to not rely solely on single-player, not only is a vague puzzle that doesn't even need an Ice Pokémon to solve because of the Ice Beam TM, it doesn't even sync up with Your Rival not having any Ice Pokémon or moves as Elite 4 Champion unless you started with Charmander (making it a plot point that defeats the premise of having Starters). Dragon sounds like a gimmick that was made for one game and didn't even do it well then...Before then utterly ruining Ice's gimmick by being faster than most Ice types and learning moves that hurt them a lot. I do, however, agree that Ice always should have hurt Water. I could see someone spacing out at work in the 90's and forgetting to make Water weak to Ice, but I don't know what would inspire someone to go out of their way to make Water resistant to Ice. Maybe it was a glitch, like with Psychic being immune to Ghost, and nobody started thinking that was a mistake until Freeze Dry.
I love Ice types, and you made a lot of good points I always talked about. When I was younger I loved Steel and Ghost the most because they had a similar playstyle, but tankier with more variety. Being an Ice type lover feels similar to loving Electric tbh. They feel forgotten with barely any counter play among the other types. (And step on each other's niches, and need to be fleshed out) They also need to take a page out of the book for Bug types. Add more unique moves these 'mons can use to be more effective. Ice should be strong against Ground, Rock, Water, and Flying. Not effective against Steel, Fire, and Ice. Weak to Fighting, Steel, and Rock. And resist Dragon, Fire, Ice, and Water. Electric should be strong against Water, Fighting, Flying, and Fairy. Not effective against Electric, Grass, and Dragon. Negate Ground attacks. Weak to Ground. And resist Electric, Flying, and Steel. If we are going to remove the obvious strength of Ice (Dragon), then it should be fair to remove the obvious weakness (Fire). Ice needs some resistances to really help it out, so resist Fire and Water too to keep those elements in check. Electric being strong against Fighting and Fairy helps keep them in check. (Paralyzing your opponent for Fighting, and being a more artificial element for Fairy to pair with Poison and Steel) It's important that Electric and Ice keep their strength against Flying as they are the only 2/3 types for it, other being Rock. It always bugged me how strong Fire and Fighting types really were, and mainly because their type.
I feel like youre going for a cameo heavy with characters, players, and places but thats just not what quality is. Porting every gen into one world and remaking them 2D is too much
Honestly Ice-types in old gens were also more well-designed for gameplay. Lapras, Cloyster, Jynx, Articuno, Regice, Walrein, Weavile, Froslass, and Mamoswine were each viable in their debut generations.
Having all past areas in a single game is cool. Like in Yo-Kai Watch 3. Having all past monsters in a single game sure is cool. Like Yo-Kai Watch 3 (752 monsters after FREE DLC LMAO) Sure would be nice if the new 3D Pokemon models had actual expressiveness and good animation. Like Yo-Kai Watch 3. Most JRPGs balance EXP and levels by making level growth slow so you do not get too strong too fast. Like Yo-Kai Watch 3. Don't suppose you are seeing a pattern here? I care about Pokemon as much as you do. It's part of why I play other monster collectors so I can see some good ideas they could incorporate or even use even for my own games. It's better than constamtly being saddled with disappointment. Actions speak louder than words.
Instead every region entirely being inna game that could make your switch probably melt… how about PWT returns and with every month or week the locations cycles through every region First one is in your region and following start of the week I not very familiar with Kanto or Johto maps but In Hoenn the Tournament can be hosted in Lilycove’s Contest Hall while there you get to visit Mt. Pyre or take a ferry to Slateport to get to Sea Mauville In Sinnoh the Tournament is some where in the Battle Frontier and you get to visit Jubilife City and may be Mt. Coronet In Unova you already know where… in Driftveil catch a bus to Castelia In Kalos … uh the Shalour Gym and you get to visit the tower of mastery.. maybe for a reference mega evolution. and you can visit Lumiose In Alola in the Battle Dome, there you can visit Heahea and catch a ferry to Hau’oli… or maybe Malie City cause of the Garden being a landmark In Galar in the Wyndon Stadium, you can catch the train to Motostoke.. or Hammerlocke In Paldea maybe the Pokemon League building or the plaza in Mesagoza and you can visit Levincia (and be able to go into selected buildings excluding the academy) And also there can be side quests where you can battle Legendaries, battle rivals… maybe encounter Hilda or Hilbert briefly
This video was genuinely so fum to make and half of why it's so late was that I was falling out of my love for the game when Sony did it's bullshit And once I got back into it, the nonstop "balance" patches turning fun and unique playstyles into toxic cesspools of min/maxers who would treat people who played the game their own way like shit just turned me off of finishing the video This game was such an amazing gem when it first came out and I like to think of this as a celebration of what used to be a game of the year contender turned laughingstock given the rapidly approaching release of Space Marine 2 and loving it on its release, as opposed to what it's become now RIP Helldivers. You truly deserved better than what Sony and Arrowhead did to you
10 games in 1 game is not needed, the game price would be the same, the sales will close to be the same, no need to up the production value from a company perspetive.´ Making a game to end all games is the stupidest option, considering it is the biggest franchise in the world. Handpicking the sprites and models is an unfair comparison, especially considering that models are not meant to stay still, look at early Sword/shield 1st fight having Scorbunny and Wooloo both using tackles with totally different animations. Overall bad opinions and bad takes. I would have the game have a choose difficulty selection at the start for the veterans, but not make the game harder for everyone since their target demographic is the 4 year olds. This is the reason why you can't have a fan make the decisions in a new pokemon game, everyone thinks they're right but everyone has the shittiest takes,«.
I’m actually glad indigo league isn’t #1 cuz almost every time I see a Pokémon theme ranking everyone puts indigo league at #1 (this is a slight exaggeration as I haven’t seen many Pokémon theme rankings) so it was nice to see something different for once personally my #1 would have to be Be a hero although I’m biased as the only Pokémon anime seasons I’ve seen are (in this order) indigo league xy (all 3) sun & moon (all 3) & some of journeys I didn’t like it idk why I just didn’t so I didn’t watch it aside from the 1st few episodes & then only an odd episode or clip on RU-vid 😂 Edit: spellings & grammar checked & changed
