As a black man, you should know better than to be a puppet. Speak the truth! Have empathy and understanding for the oppressed Palestinians who've been dehumanized and slaughtered like animals for 75yrs. Don't be a puppet. Stand on the right side of history! Israel is the occupier. So, what are they "defending" themselves from? Palestinians dont have an army or billions of dollars to help them. Go listen to what Israeli leaders are saying. Will you condemn Israel for the atrocities carried out on the people in Gaza? For bombing hospitals, for murdering their children, for blocking aid from Egypt, for killing American citizens, for killing journalists, for killing workers from the Red Cross? Or just condemn Hamas for revolting against their oppressor, who has kept them in an open-air prison and removed them from their indigenous lands? Would MLK have criticized the slaves for violently liberating themselves from their oppressors? Dr. Baston, are you an informed and concerned president? Or are you a spokesman for the institutions in our community that donate funding to Israel? Who is this message for, your students or the institutions who speak through you now? Are you pledging your allegiance to them or us? Do you intentend to extended resources for the students who are impacted by this conflict? Will you uphold your promise in your diversity mission statement to establish trust, respect, mutual kindness, and equity to the students at your school? This message does not do that, it creates further divide. What goddamn purpose does this message serve? What will you do?

I expected your words to be fair and just, but I am shocked, but as a place of education, you must teach the students the right history and that Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine, and that the Jews came in 1948 refugees and fleeing from Hitler and from the Nazism that was exterminating and killing them. Now, for 75 years, the Jews have been killing Palestinian children, women and the elderly, putting up barriers, cutting off water, electricity and the Internet, and that the people in Gaza live in an open prison and did not comment on the bombing of the Baptist Hospital or the church in Gaza. Thank you! Im happy to see that tri-c can be a safe place for the jewish and Israeli students that go there, it broke my heart to see Israeli students afraid to go to their classes because a group of other students were supporting the terrorists that attacked their people.
