Allo! My name is Étienne and I'm a guitarist from Montréal, Canada 📍🇨🇦 ! I have a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Music. I’ve been teaching music since 2015 and I’m just starting to live as a professional musician. About teaching: I teach all levels, all styles on the electric and acoustic guitar. Unfortunately, I prefer not to teach classical guitar since it’s not my specialty. In the past, among other things, I've helped students enter CEGEP and university music programs by preparing them for auditions. I also taught as a high school big band educator. I do offer lessons locally in the Montreal area or worldwide via video call.

Nice solo! I totally dig that solo! Good looking guitar and I like the kitty cat. I was getting a kick out of watching him/her watch you while you played, eyes getting big and ears going back when you hit certain high notes...lol! I lost my orange tabby in February 2024. We adopted him from PETCO at 3 years old. He had been abandoned and abused. He was with us for nearly 17 years making him 20 when he died. He was my best friend and used to hang around while I was practicing. He liked to sniff and rub against all my guitars making them his...lol!
Hot sound, hot solo! I love your Eastman guitars. I have an Eastman T486 Classic. New Gibsons can’t compare to the quality and craftsmanship of the Eastman line.
Any guitar can play anything. One just has to, and I know this is massively controversial, adjust the knobs on the guitar and amp accordingly. Guitar players love to shoot out gear with everything on the guitar on 10 while using the same amp settings for each guitar but that is obnoxious.
The SG sounds great. Nice job on the transcription. Jazz can be played on any type guitar if you swinging. Joe Pass played a Fender on the early Synanon recording. Your fast vibrato on the tail end of sustained notes shows your blues roots.
The clean sound sounds a bit like a hollow body, I think 🤔....I've got an sg. i think I'll try it . George harrison used flats on an sg ...well, they all did before mid sixties

2 years ago when I decided to learn jazz guitar, I was walking down Grant street in San Francisco when I got to the corner of Grant and Green(a photo of the street sign is on the cover of Grant’s Street of Dreams album) so that was my clue for a direction and I bought that very album - very melodic, and then I started learning his guitar lines - still working on Jean De Fleur - great stuff
