I wonder if they knew about Kalameet and artorias or mantis or even the four kings They are reasons to fear the dark from the abyss The abyss itself isn't necessarily evil But depending on who's the Dominant force or raging out of control it will cause great suffering So great it turns them into crazed creatures
Preacher arm says they beckon men to the abyss. It seems hes mudding the waters between humanity/old abyss and current abyss. He straight up lies about the bugs, they do exist and theres tons of items attest their presence in the abyss
@@guibeck8259 the bugs in question are something of The Deep, which is a corrupted form of the abyss that would never exist if the age of fire hadnt been artifically prolonged for so long.
@@mxsrt7438 Glad to hear you're well! I occasionally play Transformers games, but I've been really hooked on the Dark souls games and Elden ring as of the past few months. I've downloaded some mods for them which allow you to play as the enemies and bosses, with their proper models and attacks, really fun. Also I saw the Transformers dark of the moon posts you did, specifically the one with The Fallen's model in-game, really impressive!
The one regarding Irina implies that the deep ISN'T the abyss, since the deep produces gnawing insects, unlike the abyss which only produces locust preachers, and while they DO have a ravenous appetite, they mainly eat the liquid darkness that flooded the streets of the ringed city. This, paired with the dreg monsters, make me wonder if the deep is based off the atrocities of mankind, hence why it is still "dark", yet not the abyss. The abyss was merely an aspect of the Dark Soul that Manus used in the Dragon Wars, such as the forging of the ringed knights' armor and weapons, and most likely also used by the Pygmy Lords as well, given that they were likely Manus' closest subordinates until Gwyn got a hold of them. The abyss then went dormant after Manus died quietly in Oolacile, until he was reawoken by the people of Oolacile and possibly even the people of New Londo (which would include the four kings, who were likely Pygmy Lords, or perhaps descendants of them, assuming that they wouldn't be willing to vandalize the grave of their former leader), and took his pendant, causing Manus to reawaken and, in his panick and fury, reawoke the abyss but also caused it to lash out (Showing it's connection to Manus, literally being changed by Manus' emotions getting the better of him), now the abyss ran wild and became a relentless scourge. Though the locust preachers, Kaathe, the Sable Church, and the Children of Dark from ds2 seem to believe that the Age of Dark is still salvageable, although it most likely wouldn't be the same Age of Dark that Manus had hoped to bring, given the abyss would still corrupt and turn people into monsters, as seen with Oolacile. The deep is just mankind's sins, all the evil that resulted from man taking part in Gwyn's plan, and this evil remains stuck to the world as it's "shackles", perhaps symbolic of how horrible actions and behaviour continuing to happen and be allowed for so much time will involve in the costs/consequences of those actions looming in the background, only continuing to grow as people continue to sin rather than change their ways... This explains why the deep is dark-based while also being so violent, being filled with endless suffocating water and swarms upon swarms of gnawing parasites, it's the absolute worst of mankind. It's humanity (Dark) focused into pure, truly vile evil, unlike the abyss which wasn't outright evil (at least originally). Is it any surprise why the Way of White built a huge-ass cathedral to contain the deep and it's monsters? They had to hide the "inner demons" of mankind, created by it's own actions and choices, and would not only reveal the truth of mankind (The "dark" nature of the deep showing a tie between man and darkness rather than with the gods), but also imply the truth of the First Sin commited by Gwyn. Is it any surprise that the deacons, no matter how much exposure to the holy flames they had, still succumbed to the deep and were driven to madness? They may have contained the deep, but they continued to perform the very same actions that had manifested it into existence in the first place. With the horrendous practices of the way of white (the implied rituals of whipping oneself to the point of bleeding, Aldritch's cannibalism (Eating his victims while they were STILL ALIVE, nonetheless), Allfather Lloyd's corrupt practices and lies about his suposed godhood (Bro literally claimed to be related to Gwyn), as well as corrupt clerics such as Petrus of Thourolund, and of course the fact that the Way of White served to continue Gwyn's sin against nature throughout every age that followed), the deep was spawned, and with the continuations of these actions it merely continued to fester and grow more evil and violent, seeping further into reality to the point that it became tethered to the world as a "foundation" of sorts, perhaps symbolizing how much sins can weigh someone down...
Sorry for the late reply. Honestly I can't even remember why I changed it. I'm actually thinking of returning to modding. Gonna try and use cheat engine to make The Fallen a playable character in the Transformers ROTF game. Could take several months though.

I think he’s talking about Manus not Orbeck, Manus was also a sorcerer and Orbeck doesn’t do anything important or even interesting to be mentioned in this sermon
