I hit 40 in 2013 and decided to learn to play an instrument. My wife bought me a cheap ukulele and I started teaching myself through RU-vid and books . I didn't bother learning music dots and squiggles just chord shapes and tabs . Now I post vids of songs I enjoy playing in the hope it may help other learners . I don't know anything too technical and I always make mistakes in my vids but I've never been perfect at anything. Hope you like some of my covers ,give it a go yourself and have fun with music .
@@yunusbayraktar7541 The Hotel California video was taken down by youtube because the people that own the Eagles copyright don't like people doing covers of their songs . I'm guessing that's the one you mean ?
Tom Odells songs are all good so why not give them a try,. I did Magnetized on my tenor uke and now Another love on the baritone. I'm tuned DGBE and the chords are Intro Em.G.Am.Em.Bm.C. verse Em.Am.Em.Bm.C. Chorus G.Em.Bm.C. That's all you need folks TTFN. Keep Strummin. Impressive performance of the song. I always find high-quality music on your channel for my own strumming the ukulele. Thank you, real human being and a real hero!
Originally an American folk song ,here's the earliest recording from 1933 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fYFHg1cCu20.htmlsi=95APJRxs63ZmnCpV
Great song, I learnt this ages ago on a Tenor uke and have played it on my Baritone using the same chord shapes and singing a bit lower. I'm tuned DGBE on my Baritone and the chords I'm using are Em.G.A.C.Em.G.B7. Em.G.A.C.Em.B7.Em.B7. The chords for smaller Ukuleles are Am.C.D.F.Am.C.E7. Am.C.D.F.Am.E7.Am.E7. The shapes you make will be the same but it will sound a lot higher. Try it out whatever uke you have. Here's a link to the earliest known recording of the song from 1933 (as a folk song,it's been around even longer) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fYFHg1cCu20.htmlsi=95APJRxs63ZmnCpV Here's a link to the chords and lyrics I started from in the key Am tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the-animals/house-of-the-rising-sun-chords-18688
@@NickChittyFlying cool , I see your F and I'll raise you a B 🤣.I've still have to use cheats to do a B chord . Don't go putting your amp up to 11 to annoy the neighbours 🤣
This is a re-post of one I did 2 years ago. It's one of the first Cranberries songs I heard. I learnt it on a Tenor uke and I've kept the same finger positioning, and sung it lower. I'm tuned DGBE on my Baritone uke and the chords I'm using are A, Esus4, C#m, E, Gmaj7,Em7, D, Dsus2 repeated all the way through. It looks tricky written like this but it's just A, C#m, Gmaj7, D, and removing one finger for each chord to make the other 4. If you are tuned GCEA you can do the same shapes and sing a bit higher (this is the original key of the song) this makes it D, Dsus4, F#m, A, Cmaj7, C6, G, Gsus2, repeated all the way through, or D, F#m, Cmaj7, G, and lift off one finger on each chord. Hope this helps I've only got a link for the chords and lyrics in D but here it is tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the-cranberries/linger-chords-2140009
Sorry for not replying sooner . It's been a while since I played it ,but I think I'm doing this , D,U,C, D, U,C,UDU , x3 then D,D,D,D D=down U=up C=chunk/palm mute I hope this helps , another little tip is to slow down the playback speed of the video ( I think it's the 3 dots bottom right during playback ) , it sometimes helps you see what is being done a bit easier . Good luck with the song 👍🙂
I love your videos as I play a baritone uke as well, tuned to DGBE amd it so refreshing to be able to recognize the chords I'm seeing you play. Do you get a chance to play with other uke players there and do many of them play baritone as well? Have you ever tried a tenor guitar tuned DGBE? Finally, if I were to visit over there from the US, should we get together and jam a bit? You're somewhat more skilled than me, but I'm not too bad.
I'm glad you like my videos 👍 The whole idea of putting my videos on RU-vid , was because when I was a beginner, I enjoyed basic clips that gave me a bit of inspiration. So I'm trying to do the same for others 🎶 I've always been an introvert, so even though I've played with others and occasionally in public , I don't enjoy it and haven't done it for a while . But when I did most of the people I was with either had standard ukes , or standard guitars . I've never tried a Tenor guitar , I started on concert uke ,then Tenor uke and ended up with the Baritone. I don't see me changing it for anything else . If you were to visit from the US , you might be able to persuade me to meet up , but I'd probably feel a bit weird about it ( introverted) and I don't feel particularly skilled either . 🙂 Thanks for the nice comments and happy Uking 👍
CREEP from 1993, a great track. I've probably put more F**ks in than the original. My favourite cover of this song is by Homeless Mustard, I'll see if I can find a link. I'm tuned DGBE The chords I'm using are D. F#7. G. Gm. Repeated all the way through. If you have a standard G.C.E.A tuned uke the chords are G.B7.C.Cm. (that's putting your fingers in the same place as me, which makes it higher pitched) Here's Mustards version ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hXlzci1rKNM.htmlsi=0IXas5pb65YHXBQP Here's the chords and lyrics tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/jinkx-monsoon/creep-chords-1772784
I learned this one on a Tenor uke, so I'm doing the same thing with my fingers, which has transposed the chords 5 semitones. I'm using my high D tuned uke in this one but it works well with a normal low D. So I'm tuned dGBE and the chords I'm using are Verse D,A7,Em, G7 repeated Chorus Em,D,Em,D,A7 Bridge Em,A,Em,A,F#m7, Bm,G,D,A,D,A7 The links I'm sharing below are for a standard GCEA tuned uke, so it will show you where to put your fingers for what I did on the Baritone but the video below won't sound the same. I've shared it as (if you watch with the sound down) it works to learn the song on a Baritone. Original 1971 John Lennon, but I remember Roxy Music doing it in 1981. I'm tuned DGBE and the chords I'm using are Verse G,Em,D, Dsus2,D,Em, A7, D, Em, C Chorus G,F,C,G,F,Bb,G,Em,G,C,C,G Here's the chords and lyrics I did it from ozbcoz.com/Songs/song.php?ID=5398,guitar Here's Roxy Music from 1981 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hRzGzRqNj58.htmlsi=Bp3HvMLUUO-JrQbM
From 1996 (I can't believe it's that old), I've always liked a quirky song,so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm tuned DGBE and here's the chords I'm using intro G#m7/b5 verse A,Em7,A,Em7, Bm,A6,G,Gm6,F#7 x2 chorus A,Em7,A,Em7, Bm, A6, Gmaj7, Gm6, F#7 x2 bridge C, Bb,C,Fmaj7,Bb,C,E here's the chords and lyrics I started from m.e-chords.com/chords/the-divine-comedy/something-for-the-weekend/ Here's a link to the original song ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZFjfa_RB6Pc.htmlsi=6C_onh-lHW_UpRK0
It's just a really short one from their 2nd Album,so short I went through twice. But I've always liked it and it's nice and easy. I'm tuned DGBE and the chords I'm using are G,D,Am, C, repeated throughout Here's a link to the chords and lyrics tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/counting-crows/walkaways-chords-1426774
@@fazefortnite5873 I usually share what I've got , it's not always actual tabs. For this song I saw this tutorial for a standard uke and put my fingers in the same place on my Baritone uke ( transposing it 5 semi tones ,without any effort ) .
