Royal Enfield Himalayan Delivery. Thankful to CJ Motors for delivering the motorcycle within the expected period. It was very charming experience. Rode the Himalayan home for 26 kms. Very stable at 60-70 kms. Felt the power of the motor cycle. 70-80 is like butter for the motorcycle. After first service will try to go beyond 100 kms. Very agile and has very high pickup. Already tested that with my brother and myself on the Himalayan. People and police have admired the Himalayan . This is my first experience with Himalayan, with myself riding pulsar 180 for last 10 yrs. 1500 KM ownership experience : 1. Himalayan pickup is high. For my style where I ride on long wide stretches of East Kolkata Township - Rajarhat area, 60-80 kmph is very normal. If you are riding in busy city streets most of the time you may not feel the charm of riding it. 2. Wind hits you full face at 70-80 kmph. Half face helmet wont work. Full face helmet is very much required for safe controlled driving. Recently bought Fast track motocross Orange helmet from titan website. Super aerodynamic ability. Had lot of trouble riding on Royal Enfield Himalayan with full face hybrid helmet. Had to always put the visor on to protect face from wind gust. But this helmet magically solved the problem. The snout in the front totally cuts through the wind. You can always ride without the visor and enjoy the nature even at 100+ speed. This model is on discount right now on Titan. 3. I fill petrol from BP company outlet where , there is no petrol theft, I get 27 kmpl as of now. After my recent 1000 km servicing I think it might be better. Tuning has been done. Need to check the performance at the pollution check report . 4. Riding is comfortable. I have rode 26 km to office and 26 km back from office. Did not feel cramped or backpain as I feel in my pulsar 180. 5. Will update as I move towards my next servicing 6 months or 5000 kms 6. Recently RE changed the clutch . The clutch is now butter soft. 7. Heard that RE is going to increase the price 4500 kms: 1. Have taken the motorcycle for 750 kms ride along both state highways and national highways. At 110 kms/hr Himlayan can cruise smoothly. 2. Very nice performance. No vibration. Can go long distances without complaining. 3. 4hrs long rides takes toll on butt and legs . There has to to be two position leg rest in the motorcycle. Also the seat need to be modified to saddle type seat for better thigh support. 4. if anyone is planning to ride at 140km/hr plus speed , dont go for himlayan. 5. This motorcycle is good for state highways with narrow roads but NOT for National Highways.

Hi sir, i have a question. I am confused about this bike or the duke 390, my main purpose is long touring but i dont like the comfort and fuel tank capacity on the duke. I want to know the top speed of himalayan and want to know if it can maintain highway speeds of 100-120kmhr. Awaiting your response
@pradipbaral5242
@pradipbaral5242 8 лет назад
100kmph constant speed is very easy to maintain on Himalayan. No engine vibration. smooth transmission. very stable at high speeds. But high wind will hit you hard on face unless you wear a full face helmet. I did 120kmph for 20 secs on Kolkata rajarhat newtown smooth road. yet to hit highway.

+PRADIP BARAL were there vibrations at 120? Can i expect good fuel economy at 120?
@pradipbaral5242
@pradipbaral5242 8 лет назад
+Sahil Karande @120kmph I did not feel any vibration which I felt during test riding classic at 60 kmph. I am yet to ride 100 km at 100kmph. need to hit highway for that. yet to buy safety accessories. Thus cant comment on fuel economy at that speed. since bike didn't stuggle at 120, fuel economy wont be bad.

There is no vibration at any speed. At 120 I have seen economy of 25 km/ltr

+Rahul Sharma The delivery was kind of special. Had been given information on every parts and pieces of the Himalayan. 1. The motorcycle is do not lend anything from other RE models. Not even the backlit LED as in TBird. 2. The Engine is mounted on the chasis not hung like Classic. 3. Aluminium guard at bottom to protect the engine from stones and boulders 4. All metal is powder coated black. 5. Leg peg rubber can be removed to avoid slippage in muddy condition. 6. Jerry can fitting technique 7. Dashboard functioning, maximum power , torque at 4500 rpm range. at 80 kmph found it at 3500 rpm range 8. you can climb on the motorcycle while it is on side stand - that much strong to take 500kgs weight while on side stand. 9. you can take off the front wheel fender by yourself while driving in Mud. 10. The seat covers looks velvety but are actually non-porous 11. Metal they mentioned will not rust. 12. Crash guards / leg guards yet not available. So No chance of dropping the bike now. 13. Himalayan can go in water till exhaust pipe is above water level. 14. Front suspension is superb
