Am I the only one who doesnt mind this at all? Like obviously youre not supposed to drink them with the cap aiming towards the sun, the have the cap on the left or right side of your mouth and you can drink from the bottle without the cap touching your face at all. At first I used to have the same stance that its annoying to get the cap off, but then I started thinking, why do I want the cap off? so I can hold it? well its quite nice not having to hold the cap actually. Cant drop it either, cant lose it. I dont mind this change, and I dont even care about environmental aspect of it, I just like that I dont have to hold a cap in my one hand and a bottle in my other to drink. Bigger caps however are fucking awfull since those do hit your face, like prime or cecemel etc. But small bottles, im, all for it

I was that smartass too, until I discovered some caps are looser than others and will change position as you move. Especially annoying when you want to pour a drink and the cap slides down, spilling everything. Nobody ever threw away bottle caps. They just created a problem. A much better solution would be a mandatory deposit on all plastic and beverage containers, as Germany has been doing for ages. This way there is an incentive to return them. The deposit is still too low though. Needs to be 1 €, so it hurts when you are wasteful, but doesn't cost you anything if you just return it.

@@Matt..S People actually threw away bottle caps. My sister went to a dirty beach to recover only bottle caps for some whatever thing I don't remember and got a nice amount. Maybe people doesn't throw them away, but they get loose over time? idk but she got a 2 liters bottle full of only-caps xD. Where are their respective bottles? Maybe recycled (or whatever) as they are bigger and more difficult to be lost while moving garbage around.
@Matt..S
@Matt..S 2 месяца назад
@@Llorx It makes no logical sense to throw away the cap with a full bottle though. You do that, sadly, with beer bottles, because you can't reattach them. Probably, if it is a beach, the bottle over time fills with water and debris, becomes heavier than the water and sinks, while the cap, corroded by salt water and sand, and the softener drawn out by the sun, remains floating and is washed ashore, although in Europe this is ultra rare. And honestly, if a respective city is too stupid to put out trash bins and empty them, it's on them and not just on the tourists. But the new system is atrocious and increases waste. It is now a compound material and they cannot be recycled. Most industries try to go away from compound materials, but some scientist [TM] that never left their big city loft, suddenly had the brilliant idea of unremovable caps and everyone clapped instead of using their brain. And I am actually very much in favour of most EU regulations

They aren't a right-wing party. Moving to the right would be moving towards the center. They've been more hawkish than Labour about racial politics, about sexual politics, and they've made the worst tax burden since the second world war. Tony Blair was not this far to the left. Politically, they need to try and compete with Reform for the right wing vote. The British left is oversaturated, they'll find no purchase there. If they keep moving leftward, they will become a third party.
@Thought_Processing_
@Thought_Processing_ 2 месяца назад
Going right is suicide for the Tories. They have been trending right for a while. Even if you want to say it was just rhetoric that is how they are perceived. The only people who say Sunak or Johnson were centrists are the people on the far right. Let us not forget Truss who is the the darling of the far right, she was so unpopular the Tories would be lucky to be third Largest party. If we look at both recent major Tory wins Cameron/Johnson they presented themselves as centrist or at least said they had policies Labour leaning voters prefer. Now they lied but still. The problem for The Tories is there are not enough right wing votes to win on that alone but the right wing policies they champion are broadly unpopular so they lie. The Johnson coalition was built on a lie and the voting blocs it compromised were fundamentally incompatible. The south wanted tax cuts the north wanted people public investment and services. Johnson only got away with it because Corbyn was a terrible leader.
@Blukewhittaker
@Blukewhittaker 2 месяца назад
Very interesting points. It's interesting that Reform became the second party in quite a few northern seats despite having a tax cutting heavy manifesto (very different to Johnsons levelling up promises, which worked well against Corbyn alongside a brexit campaign, as you say)
@Thought_Processing_
@Thought_Processing_ 2 месяца назад
@@Blukewhittaker I don’t think many people who voted Reform did so on the basis of Taxes. I think a significant number voted for them as a protest. The majority of their vote share I think comes from the anti-immigration and shall we say xenophobic wing of the Tory party, the wing that is actively toxic to the Tory brand for centrist and even centre right voters. I also think reform benefited a lot from the media who gave them outsized focus. I think reform are going to die off by the next election as the small boat crossings will likely have been dealt with by actually funding the civil service to process claims and consequently be less of an issue, and in general I think Labour will have gotten things back on track, though I doubt they will have fixed everything by then, there is simply too much to fix. But if things are felt to be improving voters will be turned away from the extremes.
