Are you looking to get one of these knives? If you are, then please reach out to me here: ladmandiola@gmail.com. I still have a few available and I can even call you if you would like to find out what else you’re looking for. Look forward to connecting with you soon! Lad Mandiola.
Hello Al. I came across this when I was looking for a blade to add to my EDC. Could not believe it when I saw that you created this. One of my favorite neighbors and trainers. Wish you the best with this venture. Holly Road Baby!
She swung at you, and you just wanted to go Home. You need to build some self confidence, In other word. Man up. Intimidation is 9/10ths of the battle.
I know this is an old video but my fox 599tic had a bit of blade wiggle. Is this normal? Should I tighten it up? Does it have loktite? I believe you said t8 bits
Cool if they're actually available but this seems to be another ridiculous 1 site knife like the dart. A single overzealous customs official once many years ago falsely claimed that it was 'illegal' in my country so the site won't sell it. This wouldn't matter if they had any sane distribution scheme but apparently they hate money and want their product in as few hands as possible. Chinese clones are sadly the closest we can get. ?business?
These are built like a little tank. Strong. I fully without a doubt trust the blade locking system! Strong like my Cold Steel knives. I actually received a CDHK Karanto and a Spyderco Karahawk the same day. I wish I could combine the two. Spyderco is super thin deploys effortlessly EVERY TIME. Even with half hearted attempts it WILL open. But the lock in the open position feels week. The lock bar has to raise less than 1mm to unlock that blade to close it. Thin blade = thin lock bar and not a strong spring. But that all means ultra fast. The CDHC is a little wider, much stronger all the way around but..... it will not deploy every time. A knife that won't deploy is kinda like a gun without bullets. I even tried to attach a Snaggletooth tooth to it but the way the blade is shaped it just folds all the way back. This CDHC is almost a home run, heck a grand slam for that matter but that will never happen if it doesn't get to first base. I may have to modify it myself by sanding down the blade in front of the pocket catch. But then I sand off the black coating. Does anyone else have any ideas,
Hi, I'm Lad Mandiola (the owner of the company), and appreciate you making this comment. I'd like to add my thoughts more directly to you over the phone. So if you have a moment please go onto our site and please email me directly at: info@mandioladefense.com and please mention who you are here on RU-vid and I'll call you, usually within a few minutes to a few hours of receiving your email. I look forward to helping you out soon. :-)
I like that locking mechanism. I really don't trust the liner locks in some knives. I have seen and had knives where they fail or get week do not work properly. Do you think the Lucas Gun Oil is good to use on the knives? It has a needle point too. www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/lucas-oil-products-4182/chemicals---fluids-16461/grease---lube-16582/graphite-lubricant-17699/1efe28ee2d3e/lucas-oil-products-gun-oil/10875/5628445
Dopes this thing really "wave" open like the Fox 599? It would be nice to see it in action. And it would be especially nice to see how the locking mechanism works. I really don't trust the liner locks on the Fox Karambits. I have had and seen other liner locks fail and just get week and not work properly. Actual demonstration of the Mandiola Defense knives would be great.
I bought the trainer and the dart a few years ago. I love it but the trainer comes out perfect but the real knife usually comes out half way then I got to flick it again to open it. I tried messing with it to see if I could fix the problem of it stopping half way but wasnt able to. If anyone happens to read this. I kinda like the idea of just using the trainer as a non lethal controlling weapon. I'm good enough with what I train to control a person obviously depending on the person but just wondered people thoughts on that. Instead of using a real blade which most people might not even feel it when attacking with adrenaline or maybe they just crazy on drugs coming at you. I know it's better to end it fast if someone attacking but legally I know my luck and I'd just get fucked over and get arrested for defending myself if anything did occur. But yeh just wondered what yall think about using the trainer and a non lethal controlling tool. Plus I dont 100% trust the real dart because it always half way deploys compared to the trainer which deploys perfect everytime
@@707SonomaComa the trainer work perfect. But the actual dart on mine you gotta flick an extra time to open. But maybe I gotta file it down or something. Honestly I dont even need it to cut. I like it more for controlling. But I mean in real situation you might need to cut but at the same time with my luck the law fuck me over for protecting myself.
What happened to this company? Are they permanently shut down, restructuring, in litigation, or have they been bought out? There's a media blackout on information concerning their status.
I can understand. At the same time, there's good reason why. Once they work out what they work out, they will disclose at that time. In the mean time, you need to wait anymore for a product that we have. It's called the CDHK and it deploys with one hand and works exactly the same and is similar in it's design. It penetrates the same way. Go here to check it out. We have it at an incredible price and we also have a sale on it starting tomorrow (01-19-20). You're going to be BLOWN AWAY once you see the price tomorrow. Later...
I got the G10 grip model when it came out, at the time I don’t believe i saw the models with double edge. I haven’t looked into the website since then .If i did see it i would if definitely gotten the double edged model .
That mole is amazing! Smart ass comment aside, I purchased the NCO. It’s the best edc knife out there. The simplicity and effectiveness of this style knife would allow easy use by anyone. Fortunately I have not had to use it but if I ever did it would make fast work of an attacker. The black blade and fit in the hand makes it almost unnoticeable at night while walking. This is an advantage if walking thru a parking lot or street near a group of nefarious people. It’s almost impossible to drop as long as the user is conscious.
So I've had my Satin Finished CDHK for about a year now, and I'm thinking of having a personalized customed upgrade finish done. Like acid etching it so it's not an eye-catching shining polish but darker, then stone washing it to soften the sharp edge on the spine and in the tool notch catch feature. WHAT DO YOU THINK? Most specifically the blade, lockbar, ring, and pocket clip. Then keep the original highly polished finish on the stainless steel liners and screws for contrast. I guess this is a thing now that people are doing to make their EDC personally unique from the norm. I've seen it done to people's beloved Spyderco Knives on RU-vid and Instagram, and I'm impressed by the end result!
Jenard de Castro Thank you for your detailed comment and what you want to do with your knife. I really would love to see the end result! It’s people like you that really continue to help me push forward in this business. Thanks again for your contribution toward making this better. We will be starting a Kickstarter project soon on one of my personal favorite projects, that is the Strobeforce flashlight. Man did we make some improvements!
@@ladmandiola705THANK YOU for the CDHK. It really is a great economically valued karambit in comparison to the others on the market that do the exact same thing. I am very happy with with my purchases of this knife, the trainer version, and the Karanto. I can't wait till you reveal what will be on the new Strobeforce, cause I've been eyeing that one for a while since it was introduced a while back. So I will be waiting in anticipation for what's to come! In terms of doing the mods on my CDHK, I'm kinda afraid to do this myself, so I'm currently looking for someone in Los Angeles, California who specializes in doing the acid etching and stone washing. I personally don't wanna buy extra equipment and deal with the acid to make my vision into fruition. But have you seen these videos on RU-vid? They really are inspiring, but I personally don't feel I can do it myself! If I do find someone who can do this, I will show them this particular video. So they know what to expect when they open it up to see the inside workings, and spots to keep untouched and "covered" to retain the smooth action when deployed.
So, I've had this puppy for a few months now as both a general EDC and at home package opener, not to mention an 'emergency' blade. I gotta say I love the thing! It's all scratched to hell now and I had to glue the pocket clip down because the screws started to come loose, but other than that, it's a workhorse. Much more EDC friendly than the CDHK.
Al is the real deal true American bad ass! And an amazing innovative thinker, designer, and creator of the absolute best defensive combat knife! Thank you Al for your contribution in keeping us ready to protect our lives from evil. I really truly admire the fact that you named this knife after US Army Colonel Rex Applegate. The ultimate American bad ass and HERO! I carry your blade on my duty belt, as well as my everyday EDC, and know it will be there if and when I ever need it to protect my life.
Still by far the most amazingly broken down explanation for the defensive system. And to this day, the only instructor I’ve seen lay on his back and show that same instruction and example. Truly amazing. The very reason I am interested in purchasing my first Karambit/trainer package. Also why I intend to go and get back into training again.
Well... now I’m just torn... just stumbled on the satin finish version. Then found out about the new version of the karambit. Annnnnd now you’ve gone and brought this out. Well... my wallet is just gonna be starving if you keep this up. I hope you’re happy with yourselves.
Well, how about this, if you're current Military, LE or EMS, then we can give you 10% off your entire purchase. If you get the Karanto and Trainer set then you'll get all 25+ training videos by GM Felix for FREE on our Members Only page! Hope this helps. Thank you.
My problem is using this knife in conjunction to a fire arm. Use the colonel to get to your fire arm. And then continue holding the colonel while using a fire arm. The socp dagger can be used to creare space just like this but after you stab and creaye space you can draw your fire arm and use it whipe never letting go of the dagger. But I love the idea and design of the colonel. But ots a double edged sword I guess
Dude you’re a legend, I’ve been looking for a defensive knife that fulfills that exact purpose, and the socp does it perfectly. I just bought one and love everything about it
Our apologies, That is a glitch on our site. We will be taking care of this ASAP. Please keep checking back in and we will hopefully have this fixed within 24 hours. Thank you.

This knife is amazing in every sense. If you hold one in your hands, you will understand. The biggest reason to own one, is because of how secure it is in your hands. If you stab with any knife, the knife can penetrate but there is a high probability that the knife will hit something, (bones or organs) and your hand will continue to move forward and you can cut your hand. This won't happen with the colonel blade. The hole that you put your finger through, prevents that.
stormtrooper We encourage everybody who decides to make a purchase on any of our products that they take personal responsibility and asking their local sheriffs office where you reside what is legal and what is not legal to carry. We hope this information is helpful and we look forward to hopefully processing your order once you find this information out, thank you.
