"My beloved is mine, and I am his. He feeds his flock among the lilies." - Song of Songs 2:16 "I am my beloved’s, And my beloved is mine. He feeds his flock among the lilies." - Song of Songs 6:3 "I am my beloved’s, And his desire is toward me." - Song of Songs 7:10 The bride in Song of Songs is progressing in her love. First verse starts with her love towards her bridegroom. In the second verse the order is flipped. It's His love first, then hers. Finally in the last verse she isn't speaking of her love anymore. The bridegroom and His love is all she cares about. May our love and understanding grow similarly. It's Jesus Christ and His love that we only need to care about. He is all sufficient! Our love is nothing, but meek. Not really worth thinking about. Especially as we stand in His presence. John the Baptist said rightfully so: "He must increase, but I must decrease." Oh, may we be nothing, not worth speaking about or mentioned and Christ everything!
Woke up this morning, singing this chorus in my heart. Had to return and look at the lyrics again closely. Thank you for presenting this song to me for the first time many years ago. Yes, nothing but love of our beloved Jesus Christ, especially as revealed on the cross of Calvary, makes us overcomers of this desert until He returns to fetch His bride.
Dear sister, thank you for your posting. I really enjoyed it a lot. I'm a sister from Korea. Someday, I want to meet you and sing the hymn together. In the old testament, among the feasts, the last one was the feast of tabernacle. In eternity we will enjoy and remember the experiences what we enjoyed concerning Christ in this age. That's why we're not afraid of going to a way that we don't know. Cause it will force us to have hundreds and thousands of conversations resulting in everlasting memorial between we and Him. Amen!!
Sister...long time listener, first time to comment. First, your voice is awesome. Second, I have some hymns I wrote (for a special project), had the piano music composed; but now I need someone to write the guitar music and possibly sing them. I am willing pay for your services. The gentleness of your voice and the softness of the guitar brings to mind David singing to the Lord with his musically gift would bring peace to Saul.
