I was at this game as a kid, with my dad, in the West Stand. Yet my only memory of that game was us all giving Kevin Keegan loads of stick (iirc he'd just taken over as NUFC manager). That, and getting home afterwards and for the next 3 hours seeing us top of the league on Ceefax. Happy days!
Brilliant night for me aswell, although I missed the game as my son Luke was born at 7.45pm that evening. To make up for missing that game, Luke was with me in the West Stand when we beat Manchester United 😅😅😅
Preston north end!the original footballing superpower!what a team!that's a big crowd!it's hard to believe.brian Moore is nearly fifteen years younger than I am now!he always seemed like an older gentleman, from the old England, who. didn't look elderly but like somebody.who would always be older than you, whatever age that you would become it's so strange when that happens,it nearly always seems to be men it's hard to believe that he'd gone.he was just a legend!
I was barely 1 yrs old but thanks to upload this video. It is an historical piece of our town (Cosenza). To higlight that in the beg of the video there is the voice of a guy selling tangerines with his truck (from Corigliano) hahaha
Was at the game ended up with half of Dean Austin’s shirt that he threw to the crowd. It caught on the fencing and was ripped apart as myself and some other fans attempted to claim it😅
Wow, very good find..@ 2-20 ''Morley'' mentioned a few times. Of course, that's Tony Morley who was integral in the Aston Villa team which won the first Division title in 1981 and then the finest moment in the club's history winning the European cup in 1982. A Villa legend.
Interesting footage, and I remember the last-day First Division relegation scrap in season 1992-93 rather well, when if I recall correctly, seven clubs, including Luton & Southend, were in danger of going down with already-doomed Bristol Rovers. And I was wondering, might you be able to get hold of highlights of Southend's home/away games v Sunderland from season 1992-93, also their home games v Sunderland in seasons 1987-88 & 1991-92? If so, it would be much appreciated👍😀
And here’s to you, Martin Robinson! Jesus loves you more than you will know - whoa whoa whoa! - God bless you please, Martin Robinson! Heaven holds a place for those who pray, hey hey hey! - Early away game for me on train, and one of best. Robbo native of Chadwell St.Mary, Essex answer to Mecca!
I wasn't at this game sadly but i remember these days standing on the North Bank and all those players. i remember seeing Andy Ansah in Boots when i was buying a super nintendo game. lol
I am in this. I have screen capped my 18 year old self. This was the most amazing season. Stan Collymore coming in, Barry Fry etc. Amazing stuff. Beating Derby away when they had Marco Gabbiadini and Paul Kitson up front
@@Dead-Ball-Situation Obviously a big hit for us and previously Stockport County, Of all the goalscorers I've seen he was far and away the poorest player but a top finisher at Div one or Two (old 3rd & 4th Division) Which is why Southend flogged him to Everton. He later went to another huge club Sunderland. Some Toffees regard him as the worst Everton player of all time. We remember him as a hero and club legend 😎⚽💓.
I've been going a long time. In the 70s we were awful until Dave Smith. In the 80s we were toilet until Dave Webb. Now we have had at least 4 dreadful seasons under an owner who will take our club away ASAP and without an ounce of shame. Thereby hurting the whole town and area.. Now read it again and let that sink in. He needs to be driven out of the club now that we can all see he doesn't fight fair and couldn't give a rolling doughnut about football.
