I was born and raised on Ouchita (Buckville) and long to return home. As you visit remember the saying, "Take nothing but memories and leave nothing but footprints........ I'll come home soon......
Back in the late 80's I had Kelly's photo from the liner notes of my cassette stuck to my dashboard and it made my girlfriend so mad because I didn't have one of her but I told her if she was as beautiful and talented as Kelly Willis I would put hers up. Turned out she was insane and we broke up but I'm still listening to Kelly !
One of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. I was so in love with her. There is no reason she should not have been a Megs Star in the 90's. Radio just never gave her a chance. She might have easily been the Taylor Swift of her day. I actually had stupid music directors tell me that "I don't like her voice." I thought what the hell? Depending upon who you talked too and the song she was either "Too Country" or "Too Rock"? How could she be both? Just Unbelievable.
Thank you! I see myself in front of store! I got there at 9:48 pm Friday with about 14 people already in line then at 10:24 got to see Bryan and Aaron walking past us from the back of store. It was so surreal! They left at 10:41 after talking and taking pictures with us!!
Yes, they said they heard some people were already lined up so they came with 6 bottles to sign. So the first six in line got a bottle. I got some video as others did.
@@projecthodl1769 ah, okay. I couldn’t tell from the video. My trip: I parked behind the stores next to the church. I walked to the opposite side of the strip mall where Total Wine was not the corner. Then walked across the front of the stores until I got to Total Wine. The two separate lines started at the entrance. I went around the corner where your video started. Then walked past hundreds of people until I got back to the church. It looked like that line went off in the distance. So at that point I lost all hope and went back to my car. I arrived at 10:15. I have to assume that anyone who arrived after 6 or 7 am wouldn’t get to see the guys. Thanks for the video! I tried to explain to family how awful the line was!
I'm in this video! Not very clearly, but I was an usher in section 105, on the opposite end of the stage from where this was filmed. Fantastic show, and I still can't believe I literally got paid to see it! For anyone who was upset that the doors opened a few minutes late, the pyrotechnics on this song were the reason. Sir Paul himself insisted that every staff member in the building be given a safety briefing about emergency procedures in case of fire. He apparently insists on that whenever he employs pyro in any indoor venue.
I was lucky enough to be there….what a magical evening…Sir Paul sounded wonderful and his band is impeccable….sound guys, lighting…everyone does the most beautiful job!!! I’ll never forget it❤️❤️❤️
I'm being GREEDY today, posting 2 comment's. LOL This is what I love & admire about song writer's. In a few short minute's then can manage to fill you head with a whole film story. Kelly's voice {for me} put's it in 1950's mid America.
Well, as a Brit I'm no expert on American accent's BUT I think Kelly's version here, put's us wham, bham, in middle America. A love version. Don't think the original will ever be eclipsed but this truely lovely to listen too.
Lyrics: I wanna tell you all a story 'bout A Harper Valley widowed wife Who had a teenage daughter Who attended Harper Valley Junior High Well, her daughter came home one afternoon And didn't even stop to play And she said, "mom, I got a note here from the Harper Valley PTA" Well, the note said, "Mrs. Johnson You're wearin' your dresses way too high It's reported you've been drinking And a-running 'round with men and goin' wild And we don't believe you oughta be a-bringin' up Your little girl this way" And it was signed by the Secretary Harper Valley PTA Well, it happened that the PTA was gonna meet That very afternoon And they were sure surprised When Mrs. Johnson wore her miniskirt into the room And as she walked up to the blackboard I can still recall the words she had to say She said, "I'd like to address this meeting of the Harper Valley PTA Well, there's Bobby Taylor sittin' there And seven times he's asked me for a date And Mrs. Taylor sure seems to use a lotta ice Whenever he's away And Mr. Baker can you tell us why Your secretary had to leave this town? And shouldn't widow Jones be told to keep Her window shades all pulled completely down Well, Mr. Harper couldn't be here 'Cause he stayed too long at Kelly's Bar again And if you smell Shirley Thompson's breath You'll find she's had a little nip of gin And then you have the nerve to tell me You think that as the mother I'm not fit Well, this is just a little Peyton Place And you're all Harper Valley hypocrites" No, I wouldn't put you on because it really did It happened just this way The day my mama socked it to the Harper Valley PTA The day my mama socked it to the Harper Valley PTA
I get obsessed with songs and look at covers of one song at a time all day... this great, it almost lost me in the intro, but the buildup was fantastic! Thanks for making it!
Seven lonely days make one lonely week Seven lonely nights make one lonely me Ever since the time you told me we were through Seven lonely days I cried and I cried for you Oh, my darlin' you're cryin', boo-hoo-hoo-hoo There's no use in denyin' I cried for you It was your favorite pastime, makin' me blue Last week was the last time I cried for you Seven hankies blue I filled with my tears Seven letters, too, I filled with my fears Guess it never pays to make your lover blue Seven lonely days I cried and I cried for you Oh, my darlin you're cryin', boo-hoo-hoo-hoo Now, there's no use in denyin' I cried for you It was your favorite pastime, makin' me blue Last week was the last time I cried for you Last week was the last time I cried for you
Just discovered Kelly. I like that she doesn't shove her music down your throat and does a great job covering other artists hits by not trying to imitate them. What a mellow rendition and a great back-up band too.
