Fond memories of visted Eastbourne and riding the trams. For😊 instance, I remember my late grandmother getting stuck trying to get out of the lower deck of tram number 7. Happy days😊 Still look forward to riding the trams at Seaton. Whenever I am in the area. Also following you on RU-vid .😊
Living nearby in Brighton at that time I remember it well. Moving to Seaton and gaining their own "Right of Way" was the best thing Claude ever did. Sadly he didn't live long enough to see how the hard work of his followers has proved to be such a success. Seaton Council are to be praised for their support. Eastbourne Council LOL , enough said about them. As a young rail modeler in 1962 I came home from the tramway and immediately built a model of the green number 6. I send my best wishes to all the team at Seaton Tramway and I'm watching the Webcams every day. JNS ,Rugby, Warks.
I was surprised that it was not mentioned that this tram was brought down from Ian R Cormack in Scotland by Brian Martin to the Liverpool area, who as we know, was an ex editor of the TLRS magazine Tramfare.
Many years ago as a young boy I had a ride on the Eastbourne trams, then in more recent years I got to enjoy a trip on the Seaton tramway - I never connected the two.
Hey Up! ...there is PLENTY of places to pop some More of that track... Hadfield to Woodhead tunnel, - maybe even Through the tunnel... ...other lines are possible in that area but might require a rack and pinion design...
40:15 If they are lead-acid cells they would be 2.1 volts per cell, so there are probably 60 cells which gives 126 volts, and on charge I have seen that system run to 130 volts ! ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
Lovely video on a beautiful day, absolutlely love the trams! Pity we couldn't hear what Gareth was saying, but Josh came over loud and clear, so that was great!
