The previous video on camera alignment was very good. This one is even better. The trick with overlaying the 39.5 mm circle to test your results alone is a game changer. After duplicating this trick on #2 just as Dimitri did, I moved #4 elsewhere on the workbed, set framing to continuous and fired up the “rubber-band” framing tool. Watching that beam track perfectly in the previously engraved circle was immensely satisfying! And just in time for my post computer crash realignments.
I wanted to buy a Lasermatic mk2 XW 30W with chuck rotary, but shipping to the Netherlands costs $450, it's very expensive, I'll look for another laser
I wonder if some kind of filter can be used over the module intake? Using a new one each time. I found soot has been getting deep into mine even when I blow it out after each use. I think some of the wood I'm working with gives off a lot more soot. I've been getting Oak that's laminated on the other side with luan. I get it from a local Hardware/Lumber store . Where I live in the Michigan UP I don't have any Home Depots or Lowe's for over a hundred miles 🥺
So with each thickness you also need to recalibrate for each when switching between the honeycomb and the Jig Table? they sit at very different heights. I was just pulling my hair out trying to use the dots with no luck using the honeycomb even with it completely covered with white paper.
I still dont have this machine yet, but I gotta say from all my research over the past few months I've got to say I take my hat off to Roly you seem to have smashed it. Not only with a great product but it seems the technical support and customer services is second to none also. 👏🙌🙌🙌
Hi, Really like the look of your engraver and note that you are shipping to the UK. I am mainly a cnc background and this would be my first laser. I mainly want it for cutting balsa for rc planes but also some engraving projects. I wondered if you can clarify something for me, plenty of sites/people seem to say that you can mark stainless with a diode, others seem to say it just rubs off with a diode laser. Can you clarify if I will be able to brand my stainless products with the roly 30w? If not are you planning to introduce an IR head at some point? Not a deal breaker for me but would be nice to know. Thanks Frank
I just did this calibration with the new camera import settings and it worked perfectly, my accuracy is less than 1 mm. Well done. Makes a great machine just that much better ! ;-)
Hi Leo, I tuned in late but got the information. It would be helpful to post the camera file to your website as some of us don't use face book and would prefer to go directly to the website instead. I'm not sure if I will have this problem or not as my machine will not be arriving until next week sometime, FedEx does not have a delivery date as of yet. Thanks for the support, much appreciated ! Cheers. (posted 8/24/23 )
Thank you Leo for posting this information. You are appreciated very much in this community ! I will also be working with the rotary soon, can't wait. ;-)
Leo, you have created a master piece my friend. This is without a doubt the best 10 watt laser and most complete package a guy could ask for. Two thumbs up. Well done sir !
I’m stuck in the install because the screw won’t come loose to adjust the shaft collar. Unfortunately it’s stripped now and Ive tried everything to get it to come loose. I swear someone superglued it. Waiting for customer service to respond but might have to return the whole unit or receive a new front shaft.
