I have driven in Ohio. UPS has triple empty trailer truck trains there. Empty means the tractor rides the middle lane and the trailers constantly swing from lane one to lane three and back.

Wow monster trucks in the UK the maximum legal weight limit on the roads is 44 tonnes which also incudes the truck weight. What happens if they break down middle of nowhere do the drivers carry satellite phones or is there good cellphone coverage

with difficulty id imagine, however generally you'd split them down into individual trailers to back them onto docks at the freight yard

First, you could not cross the river at that speed with a Volvo, you would ripp off all the plastic air lines. Secondly, Adolf had no idea what real elbow room was, if he did, he would not waste his time on Europe.

Great video, Canada has turnpike doubles, but only on divided highways, and different provinces have different rules for the rocky mountain doubles. B and super B are pretty much coast to coast. The Yukon, where I am from, runs up to 10 axle supers( tri drive tractor and a six axle B train. Only 77000 kg, but different roads from Oz

and i have seen in upstate NY they have twin 53's and i think those are called turnpike doubles.. I may be mistaken but when I saw the first one pass me i did a double take and couldnt believe what i just saw and i thought it was 2 trucks next to eachother and it was my eyes playing tricks till i seen a couple more lol
@shawn68able
@shawn68able 11 лет назад
here in the U S we don't really call them road trains, but on the interstate system, you can have up to three pup trailers. the state of michigan calls them B-trains. and out west along the pacific they haul one 53 foot trailer and a pup together. it's called a rocky mountain double.

Apart from Australia. What other countries allow Road Trains on *Public Roads* and how many trailers are they allowed ? It's something I've wondered since I saw my first triple :-)

Yes both, all trucks are speed limited to 100kmh, also the legal open road speed for heavy vehicles is 100kmh in all states of Australia.
