This is a pure hobby project of mine, and I'm excited to share my thoughts and opinions with you. It's important to note that all tests presented here are purely subjective reports and reflect my individual opinions.
I rate products based on my personal experiences with them, and my ratings are snapshots in time that may change with new products, personal preferences, and technical developments.
I independently choose and test all the products featured in my reviews, and from time to time, I may mention products that I don't have a favorable opinion of. However, creating these videos is a very time-intensive process, and so is watching them. So, to avoid wasting both your and my time, I won't be showcasing products that I don't recommend.

Phone is not the only option. I run my dongles from a small cheap Hiby R3ii or Shanling m1s player, with Hiby OS. Better sound then the phone, there is actually a big difference, I would say 20% better on non-android device. And my streaming for Tidal and Qobuz is fine, good sound quality. I think you cannot tell the difference from full size DAP with same specs and dac chips. These players are much smaller then a phone, very convenient.
i recently bought the dc03 pro, the main difference seems to be this cheaper one only has a 3.5mm output but thats fine for me (i read that balanced 4.4mm output makes barely any difference to listening experience). the performance of this dc03 itself seems excellent, although i cant say how it compares to the dc04 or others like the ifi hip dacs. but, the usc c to usb c cable lasted barely a week until it broke internally and had to be replaced. the cable on this dc04 looks the same, so be aware that may break too after a short time.
No one talking about the walls. The room can make any high end speakers sounds crap. I had Dynaudio speakers in a house in a very big "nice room" but with different kinds of walls, and the ceiling was of wood. The was no bass at all.
Thank you Yuri! It is so hard to find a proper streaming network bridge, the Rivo is it. I have had mine for a few weeks. The first thing I did was to upgrade the power supply, I do this with all of my gear when I can. I used the Farad Super 3 and the improvement was immediate in my system. Much cleaner, more dynamics, better focus and separation. Then, what kicked the Rivo over the top, was Roon. I did pick up the Roon Nucleus One and have been incredibly impressed with the overall sound quality I am getting out of the Rivo, and even my WiiM devices, including the new Ultra. If you are looking for a true network streaming bridge, give the Rivo a serious look, it sounds much better than my Mercury V2, by quite a lot.
Thank you so much for your comment! It was incredibly helpful and provided valuable insights for everyone interested in the Volumio Rivo Streamer. Your input really adds to the discussion and helps others who are considering this product. I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge!
@@YuriBrus You are very welcome Yuri! This is a solid streamer, the only issue, if you want to call it an issue, is the power supply. Jaap at Alpha Audio covered this when reviewing the Rivo and power supplies. It was a very informative video. And you do not need to spend $500+ on a power supply, the inexpensive ifi units work extremely well too. I really like this streamer, add Roon, and she is quite extraordinary. ;-)
Its digital, this is why the digital signal (Hi-Res Audio) that comes from Apples server (which could be in excess of a 1,000 miles away) gets to your DAC in error free perfect condition. Magic, no, digital protocols that correct the data at every point in the process, as a point USB also includes such protocols. Don't believe me, easy test of USB cable....Connect cable to PC and external HD. Copy a file from one to the other, check that the file is IDENTICAL. if it is then "success" the cable is perfect.
USB cables transmit data, not audio. The USB protocol ensures that data leaves and arrives intact (it includes error detection and correction). Therefore the DAC receives a perfect digital signal (exactly as it left the CD transport, or even as it left an Apple server over 1,000 miles away), regardless of how much you spend on the USB cable (Amazon Basics cable is more than good enough).
Yes, I did. I do miss them a lot, though. At a certain point, I had too much gear, and I thought it was a good idea to sell them while they were still under warranty. I still think they are a great all-in-one system, and honestly, if I wasn't such a flipper, it would be the only system I really need.
@@YuriBrus I rebuilt my entire original 70s Technics system which in my opinion sounds so much better than my super expensive modern hifi, maybe I should sell my modern equipment thinking about it heheh
@leetronix Yeah, newer is not always better. Sometimes, classic equipment delivers a rich, timeless sound that modern technology can't quite replicate.

Hello, it's the on-screen 'playback info' of the AV-Receiver that displays this on demand. No post editing done here, most Soundbars, TVs and AV-receivers have this option.
You're welcome. Yes, they are great. Be advised, though that they will not perfectly fit the LS50 unless you remove the sticky feet of the LS or use an adapter plate. I believe Isoacoustics has those as well now.
@uttammanohar7701 Hi, and thanks for asking. I probably should have mentioned that. I use both 'foobar2000' and 'VLC'. Have a great day and best regards Yuri
DX 180 has tempting specs and I've watched other very favorable reviews. To me, all the top and bottom ports are reversed, Very unfavorably, to me. Might have gotten one anyway, but did just get another brand (at $1k). Which is large and heavy. For home desktop/ system connection. Did not realize about the iBasso DX180. Major factor was what was immediately at retail here (NY NY). Some A&K was also available in same store. No iBasso there. So I also got (Amaz.Z) Hiby M300 for pocket and travel use.
I generally recommend a 36 volt 5 amp supply for these amplifiers. That is a compromise between output power and heat that will not see the amplifier bouncing into protection during loud passages. At 36 volts you will get about 75 watts/ch on 8 ohms, 140 on 4... about 105 on 6 ohms ... so you should be just fine with that.
Are these as good as those power supplies with big size, weight and metal casing? Which ones are better in terms of low heat-up? I've heard Fosi supply heat up.
First you need to recognize the difference between a consumer and an industrial supply. In terms of continuous current they will deliver the same power. But the industrial supplies have a much quicker over-current protection and will shut off almost instantly when you hit their rated limit. Consumer supplies are a bit more tolerant of short bursts of current and will generally go over-current for a couple of seconds before shutting down. That difference is enough that the industrial supply would shut down on you on loud passages in your music where the consumer supply would not. There is nothing special about the power supplies that come with these amplifiers. You can use any generic supply brick that has the right voltage, enough current and the right sized plug.
Beautiful picked up Qty SolidSteel stands, and they are built like bricks and classy. At first was not feeling the spikes however if one understands the reasoning behind the functionality all good and the saucers will protect your floors.
My Top 6 Movies For Testing Dolby Atmos (Updated For 2024)... 6. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (2015) 5. "Top Gun: Maverick" (2022) 4. "Wonka" (2023) 3. "Skyscraper" (2018) 2. "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" (2022) 1. "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2" (2017) So, What Do You Think?
yes i have it finally 2 days ago but how i can play DSD 512 , 256 im using foobar2000 sound laggy its shows DOP 256 but music keeping lagging not playing smooth please i need help guys
If you're using a PC, you should download and install the ASIO driver from the iBasso website. After installing the driver, you can configure Foobar2000 to use the ASIO output for smoother playback of your DSD files.
10 years ago I started with a very basic soundbar, but over the years I wanted a better sound. Currently, my sound system consists of 6 SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers (2 for the mains, 2 for the side channels, and 2 for the rears), an SVS Ultra Center speaker, 4 SVS Prime Elevation speakers ceiling mounted for Dolby Atmos and 2 SVS SB-3000 Subwoofers. The system is powered by a Parasound Halo A52+ 5 channel amplifier and a Yamaha Aventage RX-A8A 11 channel AVR with dual AC Infinity AIRCOM T9's keeping them cool, and all are connected to a Panamax M5400-PM Power Conditioner. The output power of this Living Room home theater system is 2,800 watts R.M.S.
Hello ! Very nice review. I was just wondering how the DX32O max compared to a desktop amp/dac, like the Questyle CMA 15 or other comparable sets ? Still hesitating whether i should purchase the dap or a desktop solution… Thanks a lot.
I did some more experimenting with these headphones. This time I used Bubble wrap in the cups. I took a handful and stuffed that in each cup. That gave an improved sound over the foam, but the sound was piercing. So I then stuffed a handful of toilet paper in each cup along with the bubble wrap.. Omg! These sounds like Koss kcf75 on steroids!! The soundstage really opens up, and vocals sound like I’m in the studio sound booth with the artist!!
@victormedrano2316 Thanks for the kind words, Victor! I've been eying the ONIX Alpha XI1 for a while now, and I will probably get one after the summer vacation. I'll definitely do a comparison once I have it. Saludos desde Switzerland!
@Hijynx87 I've been wondering about that too! I don't have the ONIX XI1 Alpha on hand right now, but I plan to get one after the summer vacation. I've heard a lot of good things about it and am very curious to see how it performs. Have a great day, and best regards, Yuri.
Great review Yuri! As usual looks like ibasso has some a fantastic job with the dc07 pro. Wonder how it will fare against others similarly priced dongles dac's
@hokagoteatimereviews Thanks a lot! iBasso has indeed done a fantastic job with the DC07Pro. I don't have any other dongles within the same price range at hand right now, but as soon as I get my hands on one, I'll definitely do a comparison.
