I definitely recommend the yeti as a camper I have been doing it for 10 years Much simpler set up but still functional This one is well-made and very classy A 1.5 m x 2 meter tarp gives you an awning Attach with clamps or cable ties , couple of fold up tent poles and obviously guys Can be attached to the roof bars or the back door
I bought tarpaulins for my yeti for camping in sunshine or for rain I can attach it to the roof bars or alternatively to the back door. Attached it with clamps and have a couple of folded up tent poles One tarp is 1.5 m x 2m The other is 3 m x 3 m. This is better quality and made for shade and shelter. If used on the side of the car, it needs to be folded in half
Brilliant. I am almost at the end of my yeti boot camper bed build and I am now thinking about an awning. I am lucky because I used to be a canvas sail / bag maker and I still have the tools and the machines so the fabric is going on order today. Can I ask how long you made the tarp as your design is amazing and fits my build perfectly? I think I will use PVC pipe instead of wood. I'm also going to make a tent surround for when the boot is open. It is pretty straight forward as I am going to make it from one piece of fabric. The top will be held on with magnets sewn into the seam, and the bottom will be staked out. It will mean we can have the boot open when sleeping, or cooking if the weather is not good. It is also good for standing up to get dressed etc.
Also a yeti owner Really like your idea Last year did the same but without the V Now looking to take another one or two tarps and see if I can add sidewalls. Using cable ties through the eyelets I may need to add extra eyelets but we’ll see when I try On my second yeti and just love it Been sleeping in it on holiday for 10 years I can literally follow the sunshine when on holiday Found that when touring Scotland, midge netting ( not mosquito netting. The holes are too big.) Is absolutely sensual for windows when open Probably one of the best cars ever designed
Ahoj :) mohu se zeptat na rozměry matrace/spaní ? Yeti na mě působilo jako malé auto, ale z tvého videa to působí, že na spaní pro dva to je ideální. Dík moc :)
Hi, this is a little off topic but can I ask how you mounted your 3 spotlights on the front? And was it easy to wire the lights? Many thanks from Australia!
How long is the sleeping space? The lenght of the trunk to front seats? I want to buy a yeti and just get a matress for it to sleep when travelling but most of the year i want it to just be a car
I tried a set up just like this but unfortunately at 175cm tall (which is not tall at all) I just don't have enough head/foot room with the base at that level. The only answer is to raise the sleeping platform to a height where the extra length from the tilted forward seats allows for 180cm sleeping length (even diagonal on the lower floor didn't work). This makes it just about impossible to sit up straight, but it does allow really good sleep - almost full double bed size. I bought the folding platform from a UK company called Simplecamper and then built in pull out drawers with flip down work surfaces which come from the back of the vehicle. I go camping to enjoy the outdoors, so I really don't feel the need to be sat inside, defeats the whole object. I do have a tarp with poles that attaches to the rear end of the roof bars and allows a decent sheltered area ouit of the back of the vehicles to sit and cook in.
