Welcome to MDrives! I am a petrolhead who loves cars, road trips and videography. My goal is to document my passion to cars, show you all the beautiful places they take me to, in the most professional way. The channel changed its name from FamilyDriver, so don't get confused when you watch my older videos. Please consider subscribing to support my channel and help it grow! Thank you Marek
Also people don’t realise how rare the manual M2 is in the uk, 664 only in OG, 428 in comp, and 37 CS. Compare that to 1Ms…and they very similar numbers.
This happened on my wife's 240i last week. I took the rear light cluster out to change the bulb only to discover that there isn't an indicator bulb to change! Mind you, after reinstalling the cluster the indicator now works perfectly. Must be a poor connection in there if giving it a thump sorts it out.
It's is a stunner for sure but if i was going to tune a engine I would prefer a closed deck than open deck the car is a Frankenstein made from parts f80 f82 .the car is a m car and it's got n55b30 variant I mean the Mlite have got a better engine than that .if I was going to buy a m. car and open the hood and I found the n55 in there I would feel cheated I mean at least BMW could I put an S engine like f80 f82 or m2cs.
No way would I buy an F87 now that the G87 is out. The F87 looks very dated now. The G87 looks incredibly aggressive and so much better than the old M2.
I have to totally disagree. I think new m2 looks very odd unless you modify them. But, the looks are very personal and the interior feels two decades apart.
@@MDrives Modified or not, the G87 looks super aggressive. The F87 just looks old now. It didn't age well at all, especially the rear end. Even without the S58, I'd still take the G87 on the looks alone.
@@simonehayes4911 Said me. And everyone else who purchased a G87. I sold my F87 for a G87, just like a whole bunch of others. No regrets. The G87 is a superior car in every way.
Coming from a tuned M140i which I owned for 4 years, I bought an OG M2 late last year. It's a bit slower in a straight line, it's noisy, the ride is crashy over bumps, the DCT is jerky at low speeds, but .... on an open twisty undulating country road, wow, it really comes alive and it all makes sense. I love it.
The N55 in the OG M2 is far superior to the standard n55 from the m135i plus it shares the same underpinnings in the chassis as the f series m3, make no mistake this car is great
Have an OG LCI and I absolutely love it. The combo of a VRSF sports cat and Mperf exhaust is the most addicting sound, and with the valves open is absolutely insane. I adore my car to bits. Lots of other extras, and IMO the best colour mineral grey, because everyone has a long beach blue one haha.
@@MDrives I do a bit yes, although it isn't a problem with the valves shut. I only tend to have them open if I'm driving hard on some good roads. With the valves open and cruising it's definitely a pain. Look forward to more content, always enjoyed your videos before and during my ownership of mine. I got the carbon mudguards you have after watching that video.
@@MDrives Germany was blessedly quiet. Poland tolls were awkward as I don’t have a passenger. Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland have all been baking hot. Interesting to see new countries but the roads are rather dull. 2000 miles covered this week.
Fantastic content. I was considering getting a pair and since I too dont have the shoe in my country, am gonna get it abroad so I want to be sure before buying. I too have somewhat wide feet and am afraid because of it. Is your speedcat a size up than your usual shoe size or is it the same and can you give any Vans shoe as example for a reference for me to try and compare it to speedcats. I know I asked for a lot but I would highly appreciate the feedback. Thank you in advance.
Brilliant- off to follow your Swiss alps route in 2 weeks (best guess route). I live in Loughborough so not far from the peaks - you mentioned you would share route in the video…but can’t see it. Pretty pls share 😊
Hi. Well, I’m really jealous as I would love to do the Alps again. There is a video on my channel I released last year which shows the whole route I did during that trip. In regard to the Peaks, I think you didn’t stick to the end as there are two screen grabs from google maps there. Anyway, have a fantastic time! Regards 👋
I've owned my Long Beach Blue OG for nearly 5 years now, absolutely love the car and its definitely a keeper. M performance carbon exterior, M per Exhaust System, just had the steering wheel retrimmed in alcantara by Royal steering wheels with m perf carbon steering wheel trim also purchased. My brother in law just purchased an LBB M2 comp. Next time your up in Scotland give us a shout on the Fb owners page. Great channel keep up the good work.
Errrrm just to say I sold my OG LBB Manaual M2 with MPE system HK, Full BMWSH, Carbon exterior pack, and interior carbon parts as well inside 85k on the clock but did have 7 owners But it went for £19k in the end. Sooo yeah they are definitely going for cheaper than 22k right now.
@@dafaqking my thoughts was a lot of pcp owners looking at the history someone had it for good three years so up to 2019 and then went back into BMW circulation and then I owned it for 15 months/15k miles. So yeah but tbf the service history was good and it was all documented at main dealers.
@@dafaqking yeah it was great fun and my third M car. Currently have. 2016 M3 comp in satin grey. But I had M4 before M2 and E92 M3 before that. All different beasts. 😌😌
Are you kidding? The Alloys fitted to the M2 Comp are the worst design ever fitted to an M car. The standard M2 alloys were perfect from the outset. The CS gold alloys look 👌
The front I will give you, but nowhere else changed really for the better. The damn udder on the S55 exhaust is horrible, as well as the sound in general from an S55. I literally bought my one because I preferred the sound of the N55. I would steal a pair of comp seats though haha
Depends on the year. If you buy a 2016 one, sadly it's more because of the weird rule changes on tax in April 17. If you get an LCI one its £190 now which is great :) Crazy that its less than a micra haha
@@MDrives Same Ours is a late 2016 so tax is just over £300 Still not too bad though especially when compared to R32’s etc at £720 🤢🤯 Ps Get yourself some comp seats…… by far thenicest upgrade we made to our OG and bagged a bargain pair too at just over £1k 👍
I just got my 2018 manual in LBB for $38,000 with 47k miles. It was super hard to find a one owner, LBB, clean title, manual in US. Happy I found it, future classic for sure! The sound is addicting
I think this applies to your country only, in the rest of Europe good examples are still expensive, ~40/50K, especially manual ones, honestly I’d rather spend more to get an “exotic” with a little bit of years on the shoulders, but that’s probably my case and opinion. I still agree with you tho, for 25K to low ~30K I would absolutely buy one of this.
Very great job man! Your driving videos really need a view of the pedals. It would be so awesome to fix a camera on the pedalbox to film your footwork please and to include this view in your edit with the three other onboard angles.
@@MDrives Thank you for your answer! Okay! I think it's always interesting to fix a camera there, it's rich in information, even if you don't heel-toe. It might be a good idea to try it at least once. ;)
Many times. I do however have that financial advisor aka wife who isn’t soo keen on paying tax and insurance for cheap cars 😕 I really wanted to buy cheap mx5, z4 and other small fun stuff.
@@MDrives yes i live far away, Asia. I feeel like i am from switzerland 🇨🇭 thats how much i love. The green valleys the best government wow. I just wish i could visit somedays. Looking for more vlogs from you
Hey Marek! I don't know if you experience the background hissing from the tweeters (white noise) that people have complained about. If you have that same issue, did disabling the ASD module remove that hiss? I heard you need the harnass mod for that. Please let me know. Also is this an S55 or N55? Cheers
