Hi! I’m so glad that you are learning to FMQ. I made these videos a few years ago and then never made more bc life got in the way. I keep thinking I should delete my channel, but then I get messages like yours and I’m so glad you are finding them helpful. FMQ has become my true quilting love and I hope it becomes the same for you. The more you stick with it, the better you get. 💪🏻🌸

Hello 🌸 I’m glad you are finding my videos helpful. I made them a few years ago and then life got in the way and I haven’t made any since. I keep thinking that I should delete my channel, but then I get wonderful messages like yours and realize I should leave it up. I bought this ruler from Natalia Bonner’s website. I’ve used it for years and still love it. It’s the 4n1 ruler. Best of luck with your quilting.

Kudos! I am utterly fascinated by the fact that you didn't have to spin the quilt around to make it easier to do the feathers, doing them in both directions is quite a feat! Feathers are something that I fear, to get that far after all the piecing is done and be afraid of ruining it all by my own perceived "bad" quilting is what I'm working on lately. I think chalking out the feathers first is where I'll begin. Thanks for giving me a nudge forward! You rock
@suchaprettyfabric
@suchaprettyfabric Год назад
Thank you. Chalking sounds like a great idea. Anything that helps us to feel more confident and reduce some of the stress is a good choice. FMQ is definitely intimidating. You’ve got this. 💪🏻💪🏻🌸

I just ran across this video & your channel. I have been taught that when a "space, or gap" is smaller than the design, just leave it. I think your quilting looks fantastic. I know it's easy to see "missteps" as we quilt, but honestly the overall design is beautiful. No one would ever see the swirls in a row or a couple going in the same direction as a mistake. Remember - we have to step back and see the overall design as a whole! Beautiful work - thank you for the lesson!!

Hi! Thank you so much for telling me this. I check in here every so often to make sure I’m responding to comments. I’m so glad you aren’t giving up. This is not easy. I’d say perseverance & love for it are the most important. I’ve grown so much since these videos. I was doing FMQ on quilts on my domestic & loving it so much (even with frustrations) that I bought a long-arm. Everything I learned on my domestic is helping me now. (It’s challenging on the longarm too). The skills will build on each other. Beautiful quilting on a domestic is possible. Focus on the thing you did well/ are doing well even if it’s 1 swirl out of 200. It will get better. Find ways to keep joy as you learn & grow. (Dance breaks help me 😂). You can do this. 💪🏻💗

Hi! If you pause the video and then wait a few seconds, the pause icon etc… will disappear & the text will be clear so you’ll have time to read it. (My videos are from 2019 & early 2020 so you’ll find the same format in all of the videos). I don’t know if I’ll make more. Hope this helps for now 😊
